Why can't long boarders keep there douche comments to them selves. I ride both freebords and long boards. They are completely different. I bought my freebord so I could snowboard year round regardless of snow. I'm guessing most of you long boarders have never even seen snow or have snowboarded for that matter!! It's not fake long boarding...it's snowboarding on pavement!!

@dubcoastgroms its a freeboard, not a longbaord, it has an extra sat of wheels underneath the tucks to allow them to slide further and act like a snowboard, look it up, theres some pre good vids on how free boards work :)

I dont know much about freebords but the seem like a much easier version of longboarding, It looks like you never have to worry about wheel bites, you dont have to work at all for the slide and your feet are locked to help you start the slide. I am not hating just wondering if its anything like longboarding because it just seem like it. (And yes I understand its like snowboarding)

Freeboard has a 3rd weel in the center of the trucks. This third weel is closer to the ground and can pivot 360 degrees allowing u to do crazy spins and edge stop like a snowboard as well as drift the same. I have both a flowboard, freeboard and a longboard the freeboard is the closest to snowboarding on concrete u will ever get.

Longboard is just a stretched skate with bigger weels for speed. Powerslide yes freeboard style drifting no.

@donovangraphicdesign have you ever tried a freebord before? It took me like 2 weeks just to learn how to ride it. Your right sliding is easy (once you learn) but at higher speeds you need the bindings to keep you on the board as you alternate edge wheels, with a longboard you just go straight. So yea, you dont need bindings for longboards but you need them on freebords.

@rockraven5000 the only real downside to freebording is the pushing because its so damn uncomfortable. imagine trying to push a ripstick, that's it in a nutshell. to get around it i just carry around a super light penny deck for any pushing that needs to be done, but in all honestly freebords aren't made for commuting so pushing isn't really relevant unless you're out scouting for hills to freebord down.

@SenorAaron You wouldn't get far. Snowboards have bindings for reason. More control and stability. The biggest benefit from the bindings isn't even sliding, it's carving. The bindings allow you put as much weight as you want on the edges, to carve really wide turns.
