This is what the 80s were like for me and my memories, cool cars, the hair styles, jean jackets, good rock and roll on the radio, video arcades, cool kids, cool movies like this. People nowadays make the 80s out to be cheesy with bright colours, dance music, cheesy clothing,. but this is what the 80s (early up till 85 or so anyway) were really like. Hot chicks that want to fuck, t-shirts, jeans, grebs, drinking, drugs, good times, all that you see here. My fav time period.

Phoebe Cates may not have been the best actress, but she acted very well in Private School, Bright Lights Big City, and the 3 movies you've mentioned. The thing that I loved about Cates was not only was she cute & talented, it was also the fact that she wasn't anybodys puppet. What I mean about her not being a puppet was the fact that she didn't need one writer, director, or producer to hold her fucking hand like that childish little read-headed tramp Molly Ringworm did John Hughes.
Phoebe Cates didn't have that one person do all of her hit movies (with the exception of the Gremlins movies), plus she wasn't fake. As for the 2 main John Hughes puppets, all of their hits were done by Hughes himself. While Phoebe Cates hasn't had a hit movie since Gremlins 2, the 2 overrated Hughes puppets hasn't had hit movies since Weird Science and Pretty in Pink respectively. Cates my have retired, but at least she isn't remembered as one of a media thug.
what I'd like to know is why character Brad Hamilton gets fired at the restaurant where he threatens a customer that called him a moron in the place that says "100% guaranteed breakfast". Like Brad says, the guy DID call him a moron. So I don't blame him for saying what he said to the customer. Could someone please explain this scene to me, cause I just don't get it.

Well, this movie was actually inspired by real events. Cameron Crowe posed as a student at Clairmont High in San Diego. I went to school with some of the people depicted in the movie. The Mark Ratner character was based on Andy Rathbone, author of Windows for Dummies and other "Dummies" books. His wife Tina would disagree that he's gay.
I wasn't alive when this came out, but i always loved 80's teen movies. I saw this with my dad a couple years back, very uncomfortable, but now it's one of my favorites. Classic.

Well, this movie was actually inspired by real events. Cameron Crowe posed as a student at Clairmont High in San Diego. I went to school with some of the people depicted in the movie. The Mark Ratner character was based on Andy Rathbone, author of Windows for Dummies and other "Dummies" books. His wife Tina would disagree that he's gay.

I wasn't alive when this came out, but i always loved 80's teen movies. I saw this with my dad a couple years back, very uncomfortable, but now it's one of my favorites. Classic.

wow what an amazing movie! it really was the first of many classic high school movies of the 80's lol i just find it funny how they show all the Christmas decorations in one scene then they show them playing football like wtf high school doesn't play football in December...omg and that phoebe cates getting out of the pool scene!!!!! AMAZING! they shoulda showed her hot wet pussy in this movie!
