When they blew the airhorns--that is to warn them that there is some danger right? What was the danger here? I am really curious--not bashing anyone in anyway. :)
when they blow the air horns, its a signal to evacuate the buidling, due to structural integrity being compromised, and the risk of being inside not worth the outcome.
they wear devices called pass alarms. pass stands for personal alert safety systems. when the pass is activated, it monitors your motion. after 23 or so seconds of non-movement, it sounds a pre-alert. if the non-motion continues, then the device will let out a very loud shrill warning to alert of no movement, usually meaning a firefighter down. i beleive their is one type of pass alarm, that command can control if you have to evacuate.
wow... that second house did NOT need to burn. just keep a stream on that bad boy!

Busy house. Top notch balls to the wall station. The busiest in the city with as many as 5 house fires a night.
Rare that they lose a house.
Check the turnouts - not one coat yellow.

Ive ridden with them on 2 - 24 hour shifts, and however many more i want. My cousin is the station captain at 30's.
