  • if im not mistaken, the guy with macdonalds was in Namonds class in season 4

  • You gotta keep the devil way down in the hole

  • Bunk's opening quote pretty much sets the stage for the entire season.

  • How could you not like season 5? It was such a great season. It was not sub-par, it really was just as good as all the others. There was something so distrubing and beautiful about it.

  • @cartens33 It was a good season, just like all the others, but it was the only season that required a fair amount of suspension of disbelief--mostly revolving around McNulty's "homeless killer." It felt a touch artificial at times, which was something that never happened in any of the other 4 seasons. It wasn't "bad" by any sense of the word, and it's still a better season than you'll find from any other show (except possibly The Sopranos). And it was impossible to top Season 4, IMO.

  • @jesusmcsanders I know why people think you had to suspend disbelief, but at that point of McNulty's life, I can see him losing perspective and doing something like that. He's arrogant enough, and smart and stupid enough to try something like this. Believe me, cops have done this in the past, and will do it in the future. It seemed very plausible to me. I guess if it feels artificial, I guess that's more subjective. But I loved it. I don't know. Just my opinionionionionionion.

  • this is sung by Walon, Bubs sponser at his support meetings, you wouldn't guess though

  • 4:33 is so sad.. damn

  • Best songs: 1>5>3>2=4

    Best seasons: 4>3>1>2>5

  • funny how marnell can't say shit with all the fries in his mouth...

  • The bigger the lie the more they believe

  • 1:58 Just look at our elected leaders...

  • ... 3:33

  • woah this looks good :)

  • Gobbels said that.

  • the bigger the lie, the more they believe

  • "Are we ready professor?" Haha, Landsman as a professor.

  • @ 3:07 Det. Norris: LIE, You lying M/F!

  • Season 5 got a little too personal for David Simon, who was a reporter for the Baltimore Sun for many years before getting laid off. The newspaper storyline was full of extreme cynicism and the characters one dimensional. The newsroom was never written as fully developed like the police, streets, docks, schools, city hall... etc

also the season only had 10 episodes, they had to cram in alot of story arcs and the season suffered as a result. Still, worst season but pretty good season.

  • @yangdax I agree with your assessment, but I still say that even bad Wire is still amazing TV and miles ahead of most television today.

I think a lot of the upset over it also had to do with *spoiler* McNulty falling off the wagon again. He was such a good character and seeing him straighten up in season 4 was nice, but I know I was disappointed to see him fuck himself up again in season 5.

  • i love all the seasons and season 5 has the best intro imho

  • I HATE THAT FUCKING INTRO. I HAVE TO GET UP TO TURN DOWN THE VOLUME EVERYTIME THEY PLAY THAT SONG.

  • i love every season but season 1 is still my favorite

  • stop saying season 5 is the worst cuz this is the only season i have watched and i loved it

  • hahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahaha, this has to be one of the funniest things i've ever seen lol.

  • "the bigger the lie, the more they believe" the whole norm for this season.

  • The Worst Season of the series! Season 4 was the best!

  • lol Marnell is the only dislike

  • The mutherfucking Bunk! Also, every single character in The Wire is cool as fuck! It's the greatest show ever, but I do believe everyone knows that already!

  • I like this version the best. The Wire is the best.

  • Man I miss this show and the characters.

  • the nigga with the dr.pepper my nigga from school

  • lol Jay Landsman, the professor

  • full movies? ahh son, yougotta long road wit lotsa fun ahead of u. start with season one n u aint gotta stop before youve seen dem all heh downloaded season 1 for 2 weeks ago. now i'm on seazon 5 hehe watched diz shit everyday. diz is the shit right here. bubblez my man

  • 3:03 lol Jay looks so serious hes kinda creepy.

  • am I the only one who chuckles at the way Bunk says "Dr. Pepper."?

  • These little nigga's out here are really stupid like that 2:12...He thinks he hooked up to a lie detector....LMFAO It's a fucking copy machine...lol

  • who is the chick news anchor @ 4:48???? shes fine !

  • they always play good music in tha beginging

  • @MsTruSoul1 its the same song every season, just different artist

  • This season was too short yo. All the others had 12 or 13 eps.

  • The last quote also is a subtle reflection of the motto of media today. "The bigger the lie" reflects the almost ridiculousness of the stories presented by the media of all various sorts. "...The more they believe" shows how we are willing and vulnerable in consuming such bullshit information because the information being presented by "credible sources."

CSI is not this deep, yet the writing and the acting is very very shallow.

  • CHEEKY MUTHA FUCKERS!

  • This one scene alone will get you hooked. The song is amazing too.

  • "Americans are a pretty stupid people by and large. We pretty much believe whatever we're told."

    hahaha

  • OMG IT IS THE DUDE FROM TREME!!!! HE IS A AWESOME ACTOR!!!

  • @SpectralViral ahhaha no shit tips

  • is that O-Dog?

  • Probably the worst theme song of all the five season, but it grows on you over the episodes.

  • @Einchy1 The worst is season 4.

  • @Einchy1 by that I meant the opening not the actual part of the series...

  • This is definately the funniest intro scene of the entire series

  • legit show, legit intro

  • Bunk husltes as a cop,..hes the type that would be runnin corners if he wasnt in the force,..

  • Are we ready, professor?

  • So he walked him passed with the McDonalds so ol boy would think he snitched?

... them jakes are crafty as fuck man ...

  • I love Steve Earle, but this season opener has to be my least favorite out of the five.

  • This intro is my favourite.

  • this song is so fucking SICK

  • i never liked the intro song..but the show is legit

  • This same technic can be seen in homicide. Munch and another detective do the same xerox machine BS with some perp they arrested, but they tell him something about gama rays and sperm count shortage. look it up on u tube.

i also saw this on the short lived abc drama, The Unusuals.

  • @codename617

The scene is in both shows because it's based on a real life method used by Baltimore city homicide detectives in the 90s, as David Simon reported in his non-fiction work "Homicide: Life on the Killing Streets" which the TV show Homicide was based on. And then Simon made The Wire of course. Anyway, believe it or not, what happened in this scene is REAL, suspects actually fell for this trick all the time. People are stupid.

  • tom waits. best song writer ever. FACT!

  • ..shut the hell up . tom waits sucks. judy collins is the best songwriter ever. FACT

  • lol. FAIL!

  • Americans? Everybody in the fucking world believes everything they're told, even this sentence.

  • Ha ha ha ha!!! You right, its just not Americans, yeah we are dumb stupid fucks, but everybody in this world believes anything being told to them.

  • true. that's why i'm not much of a fan of the human race.

  • especially judy collins fans

  • Hell of a cold open: "The bigger the lie, the more they believe"

  • The old mickey d's routine. works all the time!

  • song name?

  • in the season 5 finale when dookie was askin prez for money was dat mondey for crack or did he really want to get in school

  • crack

  • it was for drugs.

  • Marnell! What the fuck!

  • where can i watch the full movies

  • megavideo

  • that site was only showing trailers, ima try blockbuster, thanks anyway though

  • kk try tv shack?
