Sorry Elvis did not do the original (as great as his version is) but Jane Morgan & Ben E. King both did versions much ealier than Elvis which was in 1973. Sinatra did it in the 60's along with Sonny & Cher, Roy Orbison. Hope you don't mind this bit of info.

To the best of my knowledge, WHAT NOW MY LOVE is very possibly to most reprised song (by orchestra leaders and artists alike) of the 20th Century... in the same league as CARAVAN, BEYOND THE SEA and MACK THE KNIFE, only worldwide !!! We have to thank Mr. Gilbert Becaud for that feat... By the way, Gilbert Becaud is the French equivalent of Burt Bacharach, John Lennon, Irving Belin, etc...

This version of WHAT NOW MY LOVE looks actually like a replica/hommage to Petula Clark's 1965 cover of the same song - only without the genious touch of Tony Hatch's Orchestra ; if you listen closely at the end, Agnetha hits the same two notes ("My love") Petula does... must be a tribute of some kind. I must admit that obscure song of an obscure album (THE WORLD'S GREATEST HITS) is one of my favorite ; Agnetha must be a fan too...
