  • a friend of mine said he would like surfer blood if they were less "lo fi". he is dead to me

  • This is like the greatest tidbits and riffs I ever made and fooled around with, with my old high school band except multiply it times 1000x better and smoother

  • sony MDRs. nice headphone.

  • saw them tonight at the Getty Museum in LA. They rocked the hell out of that bitch!

  • Great band! Great songs! I have seen them live quite a few times and they deliver the goods!

  • they seem really tense. they need to loosen up!!!

  • I have the same SG :D I appreciate

  • the drummer blows

  • @hippiesmurphy what makes you say that..........thought he was pretty tight the whole time?

  • they are sooo young

  • Glad I heard this tune. It would be cool if someone made a waterproof MP3 player that stays on yer head whilst surfing. I'd take this tune out to my fav. break.

  • @TheSurfinlife someone does and it's called swimp3

  • That guy's baby-face is so cute! XD

  • this band looks really young. the singer is cute tho :)

  • This song is great, and it sounds even better here, without the lead singer drenched in reverb.

  • Anchorage. Best song off of Astro Coast, hands down.

  • @Jeepyismylove totally agree with you

  • cowbell man fucking rocks!

  • cowbell man fucking rocks!

  • such a sick band, they make me wanna make an indie/surf/rock band

  • They're already good ...

  • Astro Coast is easily one of the best rock albums of the year. And Floating Vibes is one of its best songs. You can't judge a band by a live show recording or radio appearance recorded and jammed onto youtube.

  • @spaceoreo i dunno what you mean this is better then the studio version! plus i think you should judge a band by their live performance

  • This band is only going to get better.

I randomly bought their album and I was hooked three songs in.

  • saw them last night at an interpol gig!!! they were soo good live it was crazy!!! your man has a sensational voice!!! fuck people saying they have potential!! they have it!!

  • heyy surfer blood was awesome at treasure island. grrreat live!!!

  • The guy playing bass is playing a fender, right?

  • My hometwon boys!!!!!! West Palm in the house.

  • 21 NOVEMBER HMH AMSTERDAM; SUPPORT ACT INTERPOL :):):)

  • I love how simple thier music is.

  • i agree.theyre flawless live/hey guys come to new zealand.waaves and sleih bells are rubiish compared to this

  • I was expecting more shitty reverbed tripe in the vein of Wavves or Sleigh Bells, this actually isn't bad.

  • They were so good at reading!

  • drummer looks like he is going to shit himself

  • Hey! These guys are GOOOOOOOOOOD! Hello from THAILAND!

  • Absolutely love the song. Instruments and effects 10/10, singing 6/10.

  • saw them at splendour in the grass 2010. They were soo chill. Bestest set!

  • YOUNG FRANK BLACK

  • the sound- again not sure what it sounded like over the air but in this video there is a disturbing lack of ambiance- the vocals all sound like theyre being swallowed by a black hole- horrible sound quality for a studio

  • @sensodyneuser Please get the fuck over it, you're in like all their vids. You're literally the only one that cares.

  • @sensodyneuser Did you get fired by these guys or something?

  • there not really performing here there just playing live in a studio. there's no way you can expect this to be there best performance or expect this to be the way they play live

  • I really like this band now :)

  • what effects are they using it sounds so effing good.

  • @y3k23k @y3k23k the singer (based on 31 seconds in) is using a EHX Memory Man Hazarai, a EHX Little Big Muff, an Ibanez TS-9, and then just a tuner.

  • Love it all! they look so young that is awesome! baby faces!

  • Mehh..not bad but the vocals sound better on the album with the help of reverb. Live it sounds like his voice is lacking power or depth or something, a little pitchy too. But they're pretty good and have room to grow.

  • This is the new 30 something's mid life crisis band. I love it.

  • Tight is right. I think this is as 30 something's mid life crisis band. nice.

  • sounds more like pavement to me.

  • vocals could be better, but they seem pretty nervous. i heard they improved a lot though, esp at sxsw

  • Ahhh the drummer is AWESOME. I love him

  • i lovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee these guys

  • sounds very influenced by weezer

  • @dandyclaire

it may sound a tiny bit like weezer ( I don't think so, but to each his own ) but it's more likely they were influenced by the same artists, as in the beach boys or anything else with the 'surf' drums from the 60's.

  • @dandyclaire this is a good song but i dont even think this would be on weezer's dusty gems and raw nuggets!

  • Great group!

  • Mooooooooog!!!!!

  • How young are these guys? Are they even 20?

I'll admit they're not exactly innovative, but this is pretty much flawless summertime rock.

  • I disagree with everyone saying they have potential but not quite there.

There is a simplicity in their music that I thoroughly enjoy in a sea of overproduced shit these days.

  • simple is nice, but this is boring. They have room to grow though.

  • @mac197710 DAMN well put sir

  • @mac197710 i completely agree! its nice to listen to something simple and calming, this song it self is very different from what main stream artists are doing today and therefore i am a fan of surfer blood :)

  • Saw them live at Allegheny College's coffee shop in Meadville PA. These guy are actually very good live, and the sound is loud and kicks hard. Great stuff!

  • How did they get Fred Armisen to play a silly hipster on additional percussion?

  • How did you come up from under the bridge to post this in broad daylight, troll?

  • snl joke fail.

  • You say not good live, I don't get it, except maybe the energry. But they're crammed in the KEXP studio. Just close your eyes and listen, they are so incredibly tight. I'm 34 years old and this is the music I grew up listening to. I love these guys.

  • @pyite23 agreed. they're much more energetic and entertaining on stage, however.

  • @pyite23 yeah they definatly are realllyyy good live. Ive seen them twice. The first time, the energy was through the roof but the sound was pretty off. Next time, they were amazing. They really are a tight group. They know their equipment and really work to be good. I cant even tell you how many times ive played their album

  • @MarcKuzio lol were you at siren?

  • So satisfying to find something really really good in today's sea of musical empty calories...this is fantastic. Hope they keep following whatever is guiding them now...

  • potential yeah, but they also already got it. simplicity is a killer. they almost perfected it!

  • class, running out of beers,..-- great band

  • the guys would b great if only he was a better singer

  • totally irrelevant but they look like 8th graders lol they got potential, much improvement needed though

  • haha yeah i agree to both parts ... listened to the album and it seemed like every song was just almost "there". they just need to perfect their style and they'll be on their way

  • @vowtosi couldn't have said it better.

  • Is it just me, or does this track sound like 'Till Victory' by Patti Smith at the start?

  • These guys are pretty disappointing live. The album's great, though, so I'll take the good with the bad.

  • @TheDanSandwich I'll second that. I mean, this album is fucking incredible. I can't stop listening to it. I hope they will improve live.

  • Who cares about vocal reverb? I've seen them live a couple of times and they do fine without it. The only thing I don't understand is why they can't play that one part around 2:23 like they do on record.

  • These guys really need to research how to get some Live Vocal Reverb. They're really dependent on it on the record, why try and not use it live?

  • fuck it the guys vocal barely matters, the music is amazing and where there's inperfection there's perfection

  • i love it so much, but i just hate the guys voice!

  • Its a real shame this kid can't sing. Still the best thing to ever come from Florida though.

  • you should check out, Hear Hums, MichelleBlades, and totally nebular. Good floridian musicians. great actually, in my opinion. come from the same area pretty much surfer blood does.

  • @happybunnyhahausuck better than Stephen Malkmus from Pavement and I like that band and this band rules

  • borther?

great tune...surfer blood, i dig it!

  • its like weezers little borthers.

  • with reverb!

  • can't f*cking wait for this album.

  • Great cant wait for their Album to come!

  • "Freaky Deaky napkin" :D :D
