  • N900 ftw

  • Great review. I loved my Nokia N900. Was stupid enough to sell it. Won Nokia's E7 typing contest in Singapore. That's how good the keyboard is. However I still loved the way Nokia made the N900's keyboard. Maemo 5 is out of this world, if it had been further developed, Nokia would probably be in a better state now. If I could get my hands on a N900 I definitely would.

  • I have android now, I still feel maemo is the best operating system for multitasking...nokia ruined it with no much support...nokia almost killed itself

  • @ningyaake Yeah Nokia did kill itself. all it had to do was support Maemo 5 but they thought it was a dead end, community projects such as CSSU and NITDroid have certainly proved them wrong!

  • the nokia n900 and the e7 shouldnt even be compared, the nokia n900 is not a smartphone, while the e7 is considered a smartphone.the browser on the n900 is far superior has 9.4 flash while the e7 has i think 4.0,why dont you do another review with heavier web sites multitasking and see which one crashes first,i have a n8 n miss my n900 after i dropped it barely use my n8 just for pics

  • @TASKMASTER419

    Heavy web browsing - N900

    Multi-tasking with many apps - N900, just.

Won't need to make a video. Correct me if I'm mistaken, the N8 has a full focus camera like the E7 right?

  • @pannu2don

I don't think Maemo5 was the best OS, I think it COULD have been the best OS. Like you said, Nokia dumped it right into the ocean but if they didn't, if they had put more backing into it, I'm saying yes it could've easily been the best OS.

  • Dont compare E7 with N900, N900 is far more better than E7. What E7 has except screen.

Maemo 5 is the best mobile OS so far..but nokia let the OS in middle of Ocean. Otherwise not even android could beat this.

  • @iLYK2PWN your opinion will be taken into account however Windows Phone is no where near as 'tweakable' as Maemo 5 - speed wise the HTC HD2 would probably win tbh.

Not bad, should go for the Galaxy S II though, once that's rocking ICS it would be perfect.

  • if u want a phone a "developer" style phone, which has unlimited tweaks and customisation get the HTC HD2, that thing is amazing, im sorry but this thing is a slow piece of $%£&, just my opinon btw :P but windows phone 7 on the HD2 makes it as fast, if not faster than current phones (i haven't even got it, im on android, specifically a Samsung Galaxy S <3)

  • @iLYK2PWN So your being a massive critic, yet you don't own ANY of the phones you seem to be a master of ? hmmmm .. .. . . . .. .. . . . gtfo

  • @MrEpidemik yes i did, but i just have a Galaxy S now, just because i dont keep 1 phone for freakin ages doesnt mean i never had it, never did i say in my comment that i NEVER OWNED IT, i said that i "haven't got it" :P so u GTFO!

  • @iLYK2PWN I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note, previously was using a Nokia N900... Do you know much about the N900, and that it's COMPLETELY open source? ...... I'd love to hear how htc rivals this. The N900 can run Mac OS. Full...what you got cookin hd2?

  • @MrEpidemik found this funny ahaha, good reply

  • @LegolasHIMM subjective.

  • All symbian smartphones suck !

  • @YigalWeinstein I've already sold it mate, and it's not a "shallow review", there are other reviews that actually agree with me. Looking back however, yes I was too critical of the N900 but my actual review of the N900 does go through the goods of the N900, check that out if you want, otherwise thanks and peace.

  • @RM1989m use both phones on a daily basis for a while and you'll see, yes the N900 is smooth scrolling but over a while it isn't as consistent as the E7 as it does hold up and lag.

Scrolling through desktops the N900 isn't AS smooth as the E7, I'm not saying it's totally rubbish, just not AS smooth.

Yeah, battery life on the N900 isn't great, can be improved via a few tweaks though, which is a great thing about the N900 which I mentioned in the video if you continued to watch.

  • You are trying way too hard to undermine the N900..and failing miserably btw. I only watched half however: Both are just as smooth while scolling through desktops, N900 application menu was much smoother, browsing is faster and looks better on the N900 due to the high resolution, and the photos you compared were of a graphic vs a landscape.

What kind of comparison is this??

I'll give you the battery thing though. Running an x server all the time does put its strain.
