Flash CS4: Creating an MP3 Player with Actionscript Preview Part I

Hello there, ive always worked with Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver and next on my list is Flash. I gotta say your tutorials are awesome, thanks for taking the time to post them.

I have a problem with my flash i think. Ive done everything how you did it, up untill the button. got a really sweet skin made with photoshop. but i just can't seem to put an action on a button like you do it.. Is there something wrong with my version? tried to google it but nothing, i hope you can help me out.

@sandykoong Yes, All the code should work in Adobe Flash CS3 IF you select an Actionscript 3 project when you start.

Is your mp3 file in the same folder as your flash files? Did you change the name of the file in the code to the name of your mp3? An IO Error usually means that it can't find your music file.

1ST off AWSOME TUT! but im having a problem i did everything you did and its not working when i test movie the buttion is blank and it caskaidea down and nothing is click able its like it go's from 1 blank bution to like 7 weard looking buttons. HELP?!?!?!

I had the same problem as you, and found I had a typo in the line "myMusic.play();".

When you test the movie, see you get any compiler errors. I got "1120: Access of undefined property muMusic." in Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 1'. Frame 1, Line 8. Once I corrected the typo (changed mu to my) I tested again and it worked fine.
