  • As far back as the early 1980's, lower-ranking enlisted (E-1 to E-3), qualified for food stamps EVEN considering their service entitlement to commuted rations.

    That's pathetic.

Support public broadcasting... you're not seeing this sort of thing - and this perspective - via commercial broadcasters.

  • i get so irritated when I hear institutional figures bearing down on war protesters, accusing them of not supporting the troops. Meanwhile, these same officials maintain a system that keeps low ranking military families (the bulk of our military), living in poverty.

Rarely do you hear those same individuals advocating for assistance to military families (besides lip-service.)

Is the only way we can support the troops, by advocating for the wars that trample their mental health & family lives?

  • It's a great point. They praise our soldiers to get recognition, then pay them peanuts and give them inadequate armor and services because it's all an economic enterprise and the soldiers are expendable resources.

I want to support these human beings and their families, but they are feeding this insane war machine with their lives. I don't support participating in these wars. I'd rather they realize the truth and boycott the military.
