  • Actually the "orginal" in the pilot movie was a flat top k100 truck.

  • Eu dava um dedo da minha mão para conhecer esse caminhão e o Greg Evigan, assisti a série BJ AND THe BEAR quando eu era criança,

  • I seem to remember that there was actually 2 chimps who did the part of Bear.

  • that guys is so lucky getting a picture with him and the truck

  • I remember that show. Figured the truck would have been scrap by now. Nice rig.

  • act was in late 70s 1978

  • does gregg still drive trucks or did he just drive that one for the show ?? Nice truck back then as well as now

  • Thats a cool truck!! and it will always be!

  • The Bear(Sam) Died Of Cancer

  • it is true the original truck has automatic transmission because the kid don't know how to drive a stick ?

  • @hunzolee I'm not sure, but I used to watch the show as a kid and that was a long time ago, A real long time ago. I don't think large vehicles had autos than. Cause even the travel buses were standards.

  • @azsako Thank you for the replay, Allison maid heavy duty on-higway automatic transmission HT-740 4 speed, first in the 1971. I was talking to a person in NJ he was a big fan of the TV series ,he was telling me story about the truck and the transmission

  • @hunzolee You are absolutly right, 1971 so it is probably right that he wasn't able to drive stick, lol. Like Ponch in CHiP's had his scenes on a bike done on a trailer. Still a good show, wish RTN would run re-runs.

  • @azsako I like old trucker moves i just watch on youtube HIJACK old trucker move from the 70'. End of the move was look like the" Black Dog" was a remake.

  • Used to watch this show all the time with my kids

  • QUE BUENO VOLVER A GREG AL LADO DE SU CAMION, SOLO FALATA EL CHIMPANCE BEAR, A PROPOSITO QUIEN ME PUEDE COMENTAR QUE PASO CON BEAR?

    JORGE MARIO DIAZ H.

  • It may be fiberglass on the bottom where the headlights are, but the rest is steel & iron..and yes i've heard you could drive a cabover in private trucking companies that's why you have'nt much of them around as independent"s

  • Did you know that you yourself if you could find 1 a 1976 thru 1984 kw 100c to e and spend the money to customize it to exactly like the real deal, but some do'nt like to do that but actually there was 3 used in the show paul sagehorn has an active one do'nt know where the other 2 are.

  • $1.50 a mile you mean i'd charge $1.75 a mile and plus a person could diesel wholesale from a marina in steel drum's with a handpump on them

  • Do'nt the rear's seem a little small to you

  • the truck had a 8v92 detroit diesel in it

  • does any body know what happened with the bear ?

  • @danielurk more than likely he died of old age.

  • @scatpack01

then how come bj is still alive they should be about the same age

  • @scatpack01 bear is at a animal park in southern cal the monkey attack it owner

  • @danielurk Bear was 15 years old in 1978 in BJ and The Bear, he was used in Disney's "The Barefoot Executive" in 1971 and "Monkeys Go Home" with Dean Jones in 1968 and an "I Dream Of Jeannie Episode in 1965 " Bear Passed away in 1982 just after Greg Evigan toured Tv Talk shows with Bear.

  • @TheCinemastudio Thank you very much for your well informed answer. Best Regards, Daniel.-

  • @danielurk after the show he lived the rest of his life with his trainer, Marvin Downey until he died of kidney failure.

  • @danielurk I think I saw that Bear had to be put down because of the abuse he got on the show.

  • @danielurk

He's doin' time in the Pen for bank robbery.

  • @danielurk Bear got drunk one night and ripped off his trainers genitals and he was put down !

  • He probably did so much blow during the 80's he doesn't even remember doing this show

  • @lovelace64 apparently you do moron since you watched the video.

  • @scatpack01 fuck face

  • @lovelace64 perhaps you arent old enough to have seen the show

  • @lovelace64 hey man dont be a big dick

  • que buena serie la recuerdo, era mi preferida en los ochenta lastima que duro poco este mensaje desde colombia

  • I remember seeing that truck while taking a tour of the Universal Studios backlot way back in '79. (That was long before Universal was the theme park it is today.) It was pretty cool. They also had set pieces from Battlestar Galactica and the Six Million Dollar Man laying around.

  • Those it have a Detroit Diesel?

  • @blackandgold51 I believe this was a Cummins

  • I saw this truck running the I-5 in California a couple years back. Didn't occur to me if it was the real deal or not. Just thought it was some replica. Could it be?

  • @throttlehard Could have been a replica. No idea.

  • There is replica of the BJ and

the Bear Kenworth in use in California. It is not the same one from the movie but is a privately owned replica. I think there might be 2 in fact, both owned by the same trucking company.

  • @nea545 There are several trucks with the same paint design. I almost purchased one from a dealership in Canada about 5 years ago.

  • @throttlehard I also saw it on I-880 in the San Francisco Bay Area sometime last year or the year before that cant remember.

  • @throttlehard it was the original they restored it! It was in bad shape when they found it and restored it!!! You can see that episode on Speed network where they busted butt to restore it and its original trailer to its truckin beauty!!!

  • Damn nice truck !!!

  • Reckon it'd look better with a bullbar and fog lights!

  • @kevkoala Idiot dam Aussie

  • True. If if it flys, rolls, or swims

  • Someone here in Wisconsin has a replica of this truck, the original Movin' On rig and a Christine replica. He had them at the Iola car show a few years back.

  • @jpatt1000 That would be Paul Sagehorn. He sold his replica and now owns this real BJ KW. He also has the original trailer.

  • @scatpack01 Does he go to shows often? I'd like to see it again!

  • @jpatt1000 not sure of his schedule. He may be at the Waupun, Wi truck show. Not sure the dates. Paul had the Movin On KW there also. I got a short ride in it. Got to sit in the BJ truck. I know a guy with another real BJ K100.

  • @scatpack01 Hope it's in Milwaukee as the sign says ;-)

  • Love the vid. Don't know which is better, Evigan or the truck. I'm a lady mechanic so the truck gets the nod.

  • @SororPisces well being a lady you got it made either way.

  • Really fantastic footage mate thanks very much for sharing this ii really loved that truck much to my parents disgust hahah thanks again mate

  • @truckingjohnno7 you're welcome.

  • que bonito .

el kenworth cabover ( CHATO )

  • He just keeps on Movin' Ladies keep improvin' Everyday is better than the last. New Dreams & better scenes, and best of all i dont pay property tax!

  • Actually there was three trucks that was used in the TV show.

  • not sure how many were used. I know of 2 original ones though.

  • In the final year of BJ and the Bear, didnt they have a different truck (K100E) that had rectangular headlights instead of the round ones? Any body know how many trucks were made for the show-altogether? 3-4?

  • @tractorguy100 I believe that all the trucks were used had the roun headlight bezals. I don't know how many were actually used for the shows. Some say 3. I love the ole Kenworth K-100E Aerodyne. I say one here just the other day here in southwestern Colorado at the truckstop, but it was one of the newer styles with the square headlights, square air horns, square clearance light on top of the cab, with the little more square type Kenworth grill Driver said it was a 91 year model.

  • i loved that show, where's the monkey???

  • Awesome. loved this show

  • @jblackrupert

ummm, I heard through the grapevine he's running the country. Bwahahaaaaha

  • MUY BUENO !! TRUCK BJ MACKAY ,,SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA !!

  • I miss seeing cab overs. A buddy of mine had a 89 International with a big Detroit engine. Not many of them left on the road. I think the only company still making them in North America is freightliner. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @a93gmc Freightliner discontinued the Argosy. Peterbilt still offers the 362E, but only on a special order basis.

  • Remember Evigan from My Two Dads? How about Scorchy from the 1970s?! Seems a nice guy

  • Gonna get me a "K-Whopper" someday!!

  • Very nice video.

KENWORTH - is the best brand in the world.

  • Back in '88 when I visited friends in Yuma,Az,there was a buttload of KWs the series had sold off afterwards.Every one I saw was still in "BJ McKay"livery as if it were a real company.I could be wrong if it was.

  • Actually the first truck was k100 flattop.

not the hightop.the high top didnt apper in the pilot movie.

  • Awesome video - thanks for sharing it!! :)

  • @lisamariemary you're welcome

  • You showed up on my Greg Evigan squidoo lens in the list of videos - I'm going to go ahead and feature your vid, though - cuz it rocks! :)

  • this trk had a Cummins in it.

  • 400 big cam 2 13 spd

  • @scatpack01 does Kraig's truck have a cummins in it too?

  • @thedueltruck600 yes it does.

  • BJ and the Bear was one of my all time favorite shows and he actually drove the truck, like had to learn how to drive it for the show. Ninnies!!! Voiceovers, so all that talk about vibration in old trucks makes no sense to me. Voiceovers. Look that up. If you need to get facts check out the BJ and the Bear fan club online and don't just come up with random statements like a cab strapped to a trailer which is plain idiotic. He acted yes, but he actually drove it Heather. Wow villagers guy!!

  • back in the late 70s I guess it was good money. He lived in his truck also. And he drove the truck. He has a CDL now also.

  • Are you saying that he was and is now a truck driver? Did you ever ride in a tractor trailer in the late 70's to earlier 80's? The vibration and noise would have made it impossible to film the show with him actually driving. The cab of another truck was mounted on a trailer for in cab shots.

It takes very little to get a CDL pass the test, get the card, That does not make you a truck driver. There are thousands out there behind the wheel, right now, who are not truck drivers and never will be.

  • @heatherrose2006 I'm telling you what he told me. He has his CDL and is filming another movie where he drives a truck. I know how Hollywood works. And yes I have driven trucks from the 70s and 80s

  • Good for him but what does he plan to do with that piece of plastic? You don't need a CDL to drive a personally owned tractor-trailer not engaged in commerce or drive one on a closed road course while shooting a movie. Does he sideline as a driver for a production company? I am sorry if I sound cynical but I feel Hollywood has done a lot to damage the public perception of my industry.

  • Hollywood and star struck wannabees.

  • the news media does much more then hollywood to smears truckers. everytime some moron in a pickup truck kills someone the media call him a "truck Driver". plus you have actual drivers' who whizz in parking lots, throw trash out their windows, leave piss bombs along streets, etc. so it just ain't hollywood that gives us a bad rep.

  • Ah, something we can agree about, You hit on the exact point I was unsuccessfully unable to make. As in the case of the media calling the operator of a pick up a truck driver, it is equally ridicules to label anyone who can't drive a truck a Truck Driver. One becomes a Trucker Driver through EXPERIENCE not by having a "truck driving" school certificate bestowed upon them. It is not a job, it is a lifestyle. I am as equally embarrassed with the actions of some who call THEMSELVES "truck drivers".

  • He is cute though, he can ride along with me anytime.

  • Greg Evagan only "acted" like he was driving the truck on the TV show. Being a trucker brat, I hated the show. It was so ballshite. "A buck a mile, anything anywhere, no questions asked" a quick way to go broke, end up with no license and in jail.

  • I used to watch that as a kid.

Used to really think that show was something untill my dad got in early on a Friday night and watched it with me.

I remember about every 5 mins he would say "you cant get away with that" or "you cant do that in a truck". We were watching the episode where he hanges his steer axel off a cliff.

Have to be pretty heavy on your drive axels to pull that off!

  • a buck a mile was real good money in the 1970's when diesel was $0.75/gallon, coffee was a dime, & truckstops were actually truckstops.

  • IS BJ MCKAY? THE ORIGINAL CHINGAO!!! I used to have a big poster of them in the young 80s mi papa me lo regalo damn !!! that guy still looks young

  • Does Greg Evigan own the truck??

  • no. Paul Sagehorn from Wis does.

  • Kraig Cummins owns the other known surviving one down in Australia I sent you the link with a PM to see pic's of it

  • @thedueltruck600 10-4 got it. I know Kraig also.

  • orale my frend
