  • My favorite video game genres are RPGs and Platformers. I first got into RPGs with FFVII. I first got into platformers with Super Mario Sunshine.

  • fav genre def rpgs. 1st 1 i played was ff3. didnt even know there was such a thing as rpgs till i played it. i spent an entire summer devoted to that game

  • Is it wierd that the soul calibur is the only fighting series i like, i like playing street fighter and king of fighters from time to time but ive always been a fan soul calibur....idk y

  • Rpg's is what i live for...

  • RPGs! I do love me some good adventure platformers though!

  • Yep...it was a massive video took me a while to get the time to watch it lol. I understand man, it is hard as hell to really think about what one you like the best. Survival Horror for me.

  • Man, so many genres out there, I like so many types.

My favorite would have to be:

    RPG/Sanbox RPG/FPS.

    Dungeon Crawlers.

    Horror/Zombie.

    Action Adventure.

    Platformers.

    Beat'em Ups

That sums up about what I liked, course there are probably other Genre's I like that I'm just not thinking of. I like a lot of different games.

  • RPG's are my favorite with adventure games coming in at a close second (the point and click kind).

  • I extensively play all genres, except: sports, war shooters, shmups, beat' em ups, and FP-RPGs (which includes almost all Bethesda & Bioware titles).

If I had to pick a genre it would be 'Point and Click Adventures' (which died some years ago) The Longest Journey, Syberia, Scratches, Still Life, ...etc; and Dungeon Crawlers a-la Diablo.

  • TOMB RAIDER goodness, I've still never completed it, I got stuck in the background on my save game, glitched up mess, not sure what I did, I should re-visit it at some point.

    (. )( .)

  • My two favorite genres are rpgs and survival horror, no doubt. But I also love platformers, shooters, fighting games, and action adventure games. As well as all their subgenres. I do enjoy a few games from other genres, but those are the main ones I like.

  • RPG games. And not those hipster shitty Fallout/Elder's Scrolls wanna be rpg games. Not Dragon Age, and not Borderlands. In fact none of those really TRULY are rpg games. I'm talking about Dragon Quest, Breath of Fire and other classic shit.

  • Great video Nick. Few people can make a half hour video, and I watch the whole thing lol but I did. Lol. I wouldn't mind doing a video response to this, but I'm still in the middle of moving. Have you played Skyward Sword yet? Man I want to play that game lol

  • Great video.

My favourite is jrpgs :D recently beat Persona 4 and currently playing FF8. I also enjoy action adventure and fighting games alot.

  • rpgs I guess, they used to sell systems for me. when i found out the N64 wasn't getting the final fantasy sequels i went with a ps1. I was huge into jrgps but I think they have kind of been going downhill on the home consoles this generation and been favoring the western ones like Mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls games lately.

  • Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin.

  • Fighting games are my top fave. But I like a lot of other stuff too.

  • @proctorxguru I loved playing fighting games with friends when i was yoonger! I'm still a Street Fighter 2 fan!

  • I said so in another video but rpgs are my favorite genre. My favorite rpg is dark cloud 2. My favorite series of rpg games is the suikoden series mainly cause all the characters.

  • @kevintyson100 Im about 19 hrs in Dark Cloud 2 and its definately my favorite Level-5 game and definately in my top 10 PS2 games...I've only played about 10 hrs of Suikoden 3 but i loved what I played

  • My favorite genre is rpgs. My favorite rpg series are final fantasy, dragon quest, the tales of series, pokemon, and kingdom hearts.

  • @kdog7815 Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games are a must. I might like the Dragon Quest series A LITTLE more but i still love the older Final Fantasy games. I've still never played a Pokemon game lol

  • consider Zelda and RPG. I classify it more as action advernture. First RPG I played was FFVII which is also my fav of the franchise. Really enjoy the Grandia fran. as well, the original being my favorite. Wild Arms is badass as well! I could go on and on but I'll end it now. Great vid bro!

  • Dude that was an awesome video! U covered so many games for different genres new gen and old school, this vid had something for everyone! I think u know by now but my fav genre is RPS's as well. I also love survival horror and platformers. I think thats why I like ur videos so much, u have almost the exact same taste in games that I do and a bunch of what u talk about reminds me of old nostalgic memories in gaming. I started playing on the NES but didnt get into RPG's until PS1 unless u

  • @PWheat23 Thanks man! Much appreciated! I know, it seems like we like a lot of the same games! Thats awesome though. Its great to know that people have the same interest in games as I do. And i' was the same way with RPGs, i didnt really start playing them till the PS1

  • Oh man I did the same thing with Dragon Warrior as a kid, just made up my own story while grinding.

  • @dustinkreis OH YEAH!! I remember you saying that in one of your videos right? Its amazing we beat that game without knowing what was going on lol

  • thanks to games like mario i love platformers! also really enjoy Action Adventure Arcade Sports and racing games i try to get into some rpg's but they're really time consuming!

  • I play Racing /Sports , Action/Adv. , Puzzles , some handheld RPG's , Shumps , and platforming.

  • RPG's are the best, have you played any of the Tales series?

  • @capostatus937 I have actually never played a Tales game. I have been DYING to play Vespiria but other games keep getting in the way. I also heard Tales of the Abyss is great too. Whats a good one to start with?

  • @ballinnick1982 You need to play Tales of the Abyss, i've played dozens of of JRPG's and that's one of the best i've ever played. You will love the world and characters. The battle system is fun too. Other good tales games are symphonia and Vesperia. I must warn you that these games are very similar to anime.

  • Mega Man 3 is the greatest gift to Mega Man fans IMO. However the remixed music didn't do much for me I prefer the bleeps of the 8 bit era. I'd love released versions with achievements.

I read Final Fantasy will be released on a schedule like COD :( that is not good. The stories are going to be short and rushed. You already know me and what I'm going to say lol

JRPG's! If I had to choose a second it'd either be survival horror or stealth. Anything but sports!! Great video bro!

  • @Tom360degrees Oh dude, Mega Man 3 is a classic! My friend owned that as a kid and i was so jealous that he had it BUT he let me borrow it a few times and i had a blast playing it. I've never been able to get into stealth games. I am so bad at them. What are a few of your favorites? And yeah, i never buy sports games anymore. I use to buy a few BBall games now and then but thay are all the same and have no replay value once the new ones come out...Thanks for the comment bro, much appreciated!

  • This vid is so awesumm, bro, you mentioned alot of great games!

i can tell that a good story is imporant to you because the Survival/Horror and RPG genres tend to have the deeper storyines.

Remember those old point-and-click adventures on the PC?

i love Discworld, BrokenSword, etc - yes, they are not for everyone but those were 100% novelesque

Back in the 80s + 90s games were more limited in terms of memory and graphical speed, so they had to make these slower-paced but neat little p-n-clicks

  • Rpg's no question. Although i do cheat on my wife with my secret lover, fighting games lol. I also do drugs with Shmups when i call off sick from work :D

  • @yuris00 LMAO! Thats the only time cheating is appropriate...Have any good Shmup recommendations that i might not know about? I am always on the lookout for some good shoot em ups!

  • @ballinnick1982 Uh don't know if you played it, but darius gaiden is my fav shmup ever. The soundtrack is amazing way ahead of it's time to me. But it's fucking hard :(

  • Great vid, thanks!

  • Took me a while to finished bioshock i wasn't as keen on it.

  • @OwtDaftUK Its definately not the best game. I did like the game alot but not nearly as much as most people. And Bioshock 2 feels EXACTLY the same which is a let down

  • I also loved Starfox Adventures. I do wish the flying sections were better but they was probly rushed when the game was converted to be a starfox game.

  • RPG, but i am not as keen on ones with lots of quests with no meaning because they arn't part of the main story & you have to do them to be strong enough for the main story, i feel its just a way to make the game feel longer when it otherwise be short. I like action rpg because battles are quicker and feel less tedious or dont get as tedious as quick, but i do feel like normal rpg games are more tactical, speaking of tactical, i do like tactical rpgs but there story arn't often as good.

  • don't worry, god of war 2 sucks aniway

  • @mkocja5a Huh, thats weird. I heard it was one of the better ones. Oh well, i'm not into the series anyway lol

  • i highly recomment gradious 3 if you like shmups

btw, nice to see someone else is gettig tired of cod, they're decent games, but i'm so f*cking tired of them! and people could be like: "well don't play them, nobody's forcing you" well, i don't play them, but i have to listen about them 99% of the time i get into a gaming conversation, because people are so primitive when it comes to gaming where i live. ahhh, feels good to get that off my chest ^.^

  • RPG (Mostly JRPG although their a bit dieing atm) & Survival Horror (which is a dieing genre too) aint I lucky

  • Strategy, JRPG, Survival horror, Platformers, fps

  • RPGs

I love a good story + knowing I'm gonna spend a large amount of time on the game that makes the money i spent worth it

I enjoy playing Fighting games and FPSs, but am not too good at them, and my enjoyment always is too shortlived to spend money on it (racing too)

I'm really enjoying Monster Hunter Tri right now, its a new genre to me. Open world i guess? like oblivion/skyrim i think. maybe I'll try some more games like it soon.

    platformers/puzzle/adventure games are great too-mario/zelda

  • Great video, bro! As you know, my favorite genre is RPG, but sadly I haven't played that many RPGs in the past 2 years. The only 2 RPGs I've played and beaten during that time are Final Fantasy XIII and Last Rebellion. But I have been playing Lost Odyssey.

When I was younger I liked action RPGs and turn based RPGs the same, but nowadays I prefer turn based RPGs over action RPGs.

I prefer the battle system in FF XII over XIII, but I've only played about 5 hours into XII.

  • RPG's :D haha

  • Dante's Inferno is very loosely based on a book by Dante Alighieri about a man going through Hell, purgatory and heaven. Very good book.

  • Cool video but try to limit the times you say "you know".

If you can't, its alright anyways.

  • 5. 2D platformers

    4. open world

    3. fighting

    2. rpg

    1. 3D platformers

  • I can't give a top list of genre just because it all depends what I am in the mood for. I'll be a fan of rpgs, then survival horrors, then to shooting, then to action/adventure.

  • 1.JRPG's

    2.Fighting

  • @SabakunoJennifer Oh I know you love your Survival Horror lol. Your Fatal Frame lets plays are funny as hell but such a classic game and series! I'm not into music games either. There were too many of them coming out and like sports games they were all the same
