  • RIP Chuck Wagon.

  • i used to sneak into my older brothers room, grab the No Wave: To Go picture disc and totally rock-out to this song!

  • yep, back when punk was FUN. Hardcore had its own version of fun but nothing like the earlier bands and scene in LA...

...went to see The Dickies a couple days ago, but wouldn't you know that it was tempting fate to hold a show 100 yards from the old Cuckoo's Nest site. CMPD were on it and shut the show down long before JFA or The Dickies even got close to playing....

I've seen The Dickies a couple times already this year, they've been playing all over OC and LA...

  • OMG instant pogo @ 50 years old.

  • Tenia 8 años la primera vez que escuche esa cancion APE! APE! ......

  • Nothing can describe the first time I heard this song at age 14.

  • @ecnalubma696969 This is the first time I hear it and I'm 15 XD

  • remastered cd version over mangled video.

  • KILLER!

  • you drive me ape with that KILLER mullet

  • Yeah punk was supposed to be FUN!

  • @glitterwurst

punk was fun when it wasn't busy being about short hair and piercings-the Ramones, that was fun, the Dickies, also fun-buzzcocks=fun.

  • @trapadoored punk shouldn't be afraid to be pop.

it is just rock n' roll played faster after all, as much as they said it were meant to be the death of rock n' roll.

all they did was strip it back down again + make it simple + fun to listen to.

  • @taffysaur Agreed. Punk was extremely pop. It took over pop culture, after all. It was nothing more than stripped down rock with a lot of the blues and jazz influences removed. New Wave and Hardcore was basically an extension of removing blues from the mix.

There are a few exceptions to the rules though. What first comes to mind is The Clash's London Calling, with the many aspects from artists they grew up listening to. Hell, the song Jimmy Jazz was nothing more than a reason to play jazz.

  • @OsakaBloodCapital oh sure. the punks all loved their reggae too, haha.

  • Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my fave songs!

  • I luv the fuckin Dickies
