I do however support initiations, pledging, and trials before people join certain organizations. The intent and structure of so-called hazing practices is the most important aspect to the pro-hazing or anti-hazing conversation. When I pledged my GPA jumped up dramatically so there are forms of constructive "hazing".

As long as the hazing does not harm someone, it is fine. You need to earn your stripes, you don't walk in being top dog. Whenever I was in school, I was hazed, and we learned to show respect & not mouth off. The next year it was banned and we had some REALLY COCKY freshmen that we couldn't control. Hazing can be a good thing when used correctly, but if it gets out of hand it is bad. As for military and law enforcement...if you can't stand the heat, GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN, we don't need sissies!

ok so hazing happens everywhere sometimes people take it to far. its an example of extremism as the military one wasn't that bad and is meant as a show of brotherhood the high school one was on the unfortunate other side of the spectrum
