We are trying to shape our identity in doing so, which he said is psychologically stunting the maturity that comes when those around us are able to deconstruct such images easier in a face-to-face context when they don't accurately reflect who we are.

‎"facebook is not voyeurism. It is exhibitionism." He said it couldn't in essence ever be voyeurism due to the nature of we ourselves promoting content that we are intentionally branding ourselves to look like whenever we post anything. In essence, we are not necessarily sharing ourselves to our friends, but rather, showing that which we want our friends to think about us.
