  • Thank you Clint Eastwood for being you

  • Some believe that the purpose in life is to achieve the perfect death. Perhaps I don't quite believe in that myself, but man do I respect it. I salute all who have fought for their country, their home, their family, for love, and for life.

  • Flag of our fathers & letters from iwo jima are my best war movies

  • Comment removed

  • @kuneng16 I guess you still haven't seen 'Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War'. If you like war movies I don't think there is a better film than this. Strongly Recommend it =)

  • @WassupBruddah it helps me in finding some war movies...

  • this movie is so amazing...

  • @yakuza2013: you didnt understand the message of this film. Every soldier from every country is a hero, as devini5000 already said.

  • @BrotundSpiel And for me, this film said, there no heroes on the war - there are only victims.

And, by the Dragovin08: I think, there is such thing as good or evil. There ale righteous wars and there are aggressors, but it isn't, what this film was about.

Whatever - this is one of the best war films I ever saw. And soundtrack brilliant.

    Greetings.

  • the japanese soldier are all the hero not like the europe and the us they so brave and mighty

  • there is no such thing as good or evil there is only reasons that we fight there is never a right or wrong never a choice only an outcome and how r we so different if we r the same this is what this movie says

  • very touching film along with flags of our fathers. And a beautiful thoughtful song about humanity, sacrifice and very brave simple men.

  • Pay respect to every soldier from every country, whether good or bad, there is no such thing, they just followed the orders of their leaders, and served their country.

  • Yes and ... some people ... Lady GaGa, JB soo much other people couldn't understand things like this...

  • This movie, and this music, just makes me think...

Why can't people simply ... respect each other as fellow human beings?

War.... war just makes me sad. Not for one of the sides, but for all people. There are no winners in war.

  • Only one japanese soldier survived the US attack and capture Iwo Jima

  • @SuperRubenis no more than 200 , but hard how many died

  • bonita cancion

  • beatiful film , most nice that i never watched!

  • If i ever die fighting for my country they better play this song when they put me into the ground.

  • sigh.... i watch such an insperational piece fallowed by swear words below me... such an oxy-moron..

  • at least the Japanese had something to fight for...

  • The movie with the perfect ending.

    *Moment of Silence*

  • great song!

  • Wasn't this movie made by Japanese and American Directors?

  • such an emotional song

  • Did you ever noticed that people are fucked up in the world. I mean you don't know who i am but if i were some poor guy, you wouldn't be my friend. Fuck that i don't go for looks, i go for what is inside of that personne.

  • @OnkekendGHC What country are you from?

  • @SouskeSagara1 prob netherlands, "onbekend" is a dutch word

  • War is hell. I hope I never have to go through it in my lifetime, peace.

  • @OnbekendGHC War is hell indeed. But if i need to fight for my country for it's freedom, i will gladly serve for the people.

  • @OnbekendGHC Ironically, peace without war isn't possible, because war brings the need of peace...

  • @OnbekendGHC I will die in the defense of my country. The war in the Pacific, was literally a hell on Earth. those who came out alive from fighting i have the up-most respect for, no questions asked.

  • Saddest.

    Movie.

    Ever.

(Vote if you too cried at the end.)

  • @VoiceOfTheEmpeor This movie has always been in my most favorited movies ever. Very sad and emotional, this was a perfect movie.

  • for the heroes who have fallen around the world from 1940-1945

  • @amavrouleas

    What about 1939 ?

  • @VigoDoria yeap also 1939

  • @amavrouleas 1939-1945, don't forget Poland, one of the greatest victims

  • my ears cum at 1:30 so beautiful sends chills down my spine

  • @yugoslavian11

My ears too ! Let cum together !

  • ppl ppl stop arguying this is not a discussion over a war for 70 years ago lets all rememebr them for their good cause respect to the american soldiers the british, german, japanese, soviet

  • The soundtrack really made it too. Beautiful music.

  • It was a great movie. Just saw. It brought tears to my eyes. It is really a profound anti-war war film, showing that the Japanese had both fascists and truly good human beings in their ranks (as all armies do). The Japanese war of imperialism was so utterly pointless and tragic, so unnecessary. This film shows that, but also that the men who gave their lives for the Emperor and nation were incredibly brave, even though they knew it was pointless. It is one of the great war films of all time.

  • Two atomic bomb ? But most of japan cities was carpet bombed just like the german ones. The two nuke dropped did far less harm than what the incendiary bombs did in the Tokyo Fire Raids and in other cities.

You americans like to think only on that two big bomb, and forget the thousands of tons of other you used on Japan, on Germany, and even in my country Hungary.

You blame soviets they raped germans, but you did it too to japanese girls. Your movies about your war heroes make me vomit.

  • Best soundtrack for me and the flag of our fathers soundtrack

  • FUK MY FRIEND FOR NOT WATCH THIS BECAUSE ITS IN JAPANIES THATS THE BEST PART

  • @hailfire101 Lol he can't read?

  • And the lesson ll be repeated untill learned,War is not good for anybody.Peace on ya all

  • a touching soundtrack

  • this is great to listen to when you got ripped off

  • This movie brought tears to my eyes

  • I never watched a movie like this one before in my life, a movie that shows good and evil on both sides in the conflict, a movie that tells the truth, a movie thats historaclly accurate and more...

In one sentense, and perfect movie from an epic director.

  • This is the most "Kurwa" epic soundtrack what i ever heard.

    Piano cover is beatifull ;_;

  • @vEqAnimationz

    hahaah o kurwa

  • @MrFamasPL :]]]]

  • even when I just watch the publicities presenting the movie to a friend I still tear up :')

  • ;( so great

  • sigh.. lol..kmdjc nb

  • its always the husband or son who has to go to war, its never those who are responsible for war- war is just fucked up....

  • @alaurel81 "in peace, sons bury there fathers, in war, fathers bury there sons"

  • I love the beginning of this movie. The music and seeing the real Iwo Jima. You see the sheer hell that both the Marines and Japanese went through. You can see why the Marines who survived sayed they looked older after the battle was over compaired to today.

  • I wanna play this at my funerals

  • i fucked a japanese woman last night.

  • @Eazy998 The hell does that have to do with this? You come here to write that you and a Japanese woman did it. Is your brain really THAT stupid to only make the general connection that the fact that she was japanese and the fact that 70 years ago, americans and japanese shot at each other? No, if you were that stupid, how the hell did you make a youtube account? Maybe you just borrowed someone else's. It probably took you an hour to write this, didn't it? This was WAR, not some Japanese whore.

  • @darman242 Or your just jealous that I got Japanese Putang and you didnt >=D

  • Alright. The Japanese and American opinions on who started the war will always be different. Honestly, the Japanese started the war. They wanted territorial expansion. The Japanese were a little over zealous, as they conquered a lot of other countries, with not much reason. The Americans however attacked the Japanese, and put the Japanese on the defense. The Americans and Japanese were both brutal, as this was a time period best to be forgotten for all its loss of humanity it brought people to.

  • @Greydog550 everyone should take a note from your comment mate

  • Unfortunately, as opposed to the Germans, the Japanese deny their own history

  • I love Japan so much from France

  • @mekeskimfe lmao

  • other than what the fukin japs did in nanjing and subcontinet... and to surrendered soldiers... they were fierce in war... this movie reminds me of the sacrifice our soldiers gave in 1965 against india ammo starved when india waged a war at night without any announcement like cowards.our frontline soldiers strapped bombs on their bodies n fuked indian armours and just 60 soldiers who fought hundreds of indians troops for 14 hours not many survived before reinforcements came

  • I think the japanese deserves respect for their efforts during the 2 world war.¨'

Their morale were always on top, they fought to last man to protect their country.

They rather died then becoming POW's .

Though people said they were brutal, I dont think you would be so pleasant to a soldier who invaded YOUR country. Although they mercieless killed surrendering soldiers, they did only follow orders, dedicated by the will to repell the invaders

  • @SuicideSilenceLIFTED What the fuck are you talking about? Are you retarded or did you honestly not go to school? They were brutal. And their country was not invaded. They actually started the war in the Pacific, dipshit. Read a book. They were repelling the "invaders" after they attacked us. Pearl Harbor... ring a bell scoot? And they were the ones invading everything. They even invaded China. Read a book, it'll do wonders for an ignorant brain.

  • @jarsam02 You single minded american fundamentalist!

The reasons for a japanese attack where becasue the US navy had presence in japanese water!

And they continued their occupations of more countries to show that you dont mess with japan!

Just look at Philippines, the japs litterally crushed the yankies and their philippine defenders.

They invaded China due to it collaboratios with the western allies!

US invaded the japanese islands at the end of the war and the japs did all to defend them!

  • @SuicideSilenceLIFTED It seems as though you are an unfortunate product of a corrupt Liberal educational curriculum. No one persuaded or levied Japan into attacking Pearl. They did so because we cut off oil trade with them. The US decided to put sanctions on all goods to Japan. The US was not going to help fund the Japanese slaughter the Chinese like cattle. The Japanese attacked because they were attempting to acquire oil, to fund their War in China and soon to be Australia.

  • @StonewallJackson26 I couldn't really formulate myself in the way i wanted due to limited use of letters.

Wouldn't you be pissed if the country who sold you oil suddenly stopped? The japs couldn't get thier own oils and they could neither get it from Russia due to previous conflicts. They thought the US betrayed them but USA only handled that way due to a japanese invasion of China.

Im not justifying the japanese massacres of China but they attacked due to their collaborations with the allies

  • @SuicideSilenceLIFTED Again, why should the US do business with a country who is slaughtering Chinese and committing acts of genocide?

  • @StonewallJackson26 Why whould any country help each other, in the manner you are speaking of, it is partly implieing that We as Amercians have a clean slate, its bullshit, World war II was not the only sad thing to happen in history, as long as their are humans, their will be war, their will be murder, and their will be mistakes. think about the Romans, they were terribal to many cultures, they commited genocide, but if it weren't for the Romans, most of the world would have never developed.

  • @SuicideSilenceLIFTED

US Navy presence in Japanese waters ? Since when Pearl Harbor was in Japanese waters ?

"Just look at Philippines, the japs litterally crushed the yankies and their philippine defenders"

Yeah, and the Japs got unscratched in the process, huh ?

"They invaded China due to it collaboratios with the western allies!"

They had already begun to invade China in 1936-1937. So cut it out with your anti US stuff.

  • @SuicideSilenceLIFTED

"Although they mercieless killed surrendering soldiers, they did only follow orders"

They did not just follow orders when they executed captured soldiers or civilians. They thought they were the f-ing masters of the world, part of a superior race and the likes.

Besides, fighting off an invader doesn't involve mass murdering. Bataan, unit 731, Nankin, river Kwai, etc. wasn't necessary.

  • @Briselance Hahaha no!

Just take for exampel the Laha Massacre were 300 surrendering Australian soldiers were massexecuted. That was from an order from the superior commanders them self, to exterminate alle resistence on the island.

I've never justified that the masskilling and rapes were necessary, It was only orders.

    And soldiers follows order

  • can anyone tell me how to download this song

  • Letters from Iwo Jima shows that war is no joke, and certaintly not what typical movies or video games. Also it shows that people who fought for Japan during World War II had hearts too, and proves all those who think that the Japanese were the only ones who were brutal. This song just makes you think...

  • @Greydog550

Anyone who thinks the Japanese were the only brutal ones must not know shit. Both sides were just as brutal to each other.

  • @SoundReject Japs were way brutaler.

  • Comment removed

  • @SoundReject You honestly could not have understood what I said less. I said that the Japanese were as brutal as we were during the war, only slightly more because at the time, we were abiding by the Geneva Convention, preventing us from being as brutal as them.

I know more about World War II in one finger than you do as a whole.

  • @Greydog550 I'm willing to bet that some of the Germans did too... not Hitler that's for certain.

  • Comment removed

  • The part of the film when the japanese children sing that song to give encouragement to the soldiers its incredible !!

Letters from Iwo Jima is one of my favourite movies

  • @malaltdeneu letters from iwo jima is my favourite movie!

  • @SuomiLEGO an incredible movie about and incredible country.

I will visit Japan one day!!!

  • Everyone likes to think they're not the bad guys. Who's to say which is wrong and which is right? You all say that the Japanese were evil killers. The hell? Americans soldiers or Japanese soldiers. They're all poor bastards told to survive or die. It makes men go to the extreme. All of them were poor bastards staring death in the face. The real enemy is not the gun, but the ones who pull the trigger. In other words, not the soldier, the politician.

  • I remember my cousin that is in the military and i remember the day he listens to this track.... he broke down.. Love you sean with all my heart... R.I.P

  • I remember my cousin that is in the military and i remember the day he listens to this track.... he broke down.. Love youy sean with all my heart... R.I.P

  • Giving honor fallen hero! Yes, film is really sad, but this is film for true samurai!

  • Anyone else find this film really sad?

  • beautiful music, beautiful movie..<3

  • its really sad to see people as they always do,comparing one thing to another and expecting everybody else to agree with them.

Saving private Ryan was just as good of a movie as this was, both showed the horrors of war in an accurate ,realistic and unbiased way.

Just because it is popular to hate everything western in support of the east ,doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.

  • in other films someone is the bad and the other is good, in this 2 films clint eastwood changed my mind and has changed my view of war

  • such a quiet and peaceful music for such a bad thing like the war...

  • How nice would it be if the Axis won

  • man i thought the soundtrack to this movie was lame. their was literally only one soundtrack to the whole entire movie that played over and over again.

  • Shit ... I'm tired of restarting this video.

  • this was like a lot times better than flags of our fathers...

  • from the start of the video to 0:02 it sounded like those school bells ringing...

  • I found this video that uses this music perfectly. Its about Iraq I think but it is beautiful. Its called "Remembrance New Version" check it out. thanks for posting

  • respect. Thats all there is to say right......

  • Why does everyone talk like it was ten years ago? This was long ago, and germany and japan are far from the nations they were back then.

  • this music thinks me that if u are in war u should

not hate the soldier instead u both scarde but all

soldiers in war thinks about only there family

well theres nothing to figth but u know about

iraq vs america there figthing about the gas

beacuse the war starts country wont share

on other country so thts why the war starts

  • 13 people were killed by the japs

  • @TheJaaysog Whats that suppose to mean I'm japanese and in war there are no good sides sometimes there are if its a offensive attack

  • @IMASIAN09 even if you are japanese.. you have to admit germany/japan were the bad side... i understand what youre saying, but your ideals were not right at those times.

  • @GuilhermeMFC True that

  • @IMASIAN09 Sorry, iam german and trust me we were the bad guys.....and we all should be lucky that our ass was kicked.....

  • ONE M0:00RE TIME!!

  • i dont care what other´s said about japaneese folks to be evil during WWII they where only following orders so i cant say they where stupid adn cold bloded

  • In a way, this depicts the last year of a truly unique culture. In honor of any and all fallen civilizations and cultures.

  • @Cmdrscott1701 I agree. This music makes me feel the end of hope, the end of all. Quite depressive but resigned. The dusk of the Empire of the Rising Sun...

  • One of the strongest movies ive ever seen

  • I'd say we need such a quality production portrayed from the German point of view.

  • @HPBrowningBoy Yes we do. The Germans were brain washed thanks to fucking HItler..

  • This movie is WAY better than Saving Private Ryan.

  • @MrWWIIACE Different styles i would say, but this is way up in my top 5 movies ever.

  • @MrWWIIACE yes it is. one of the most beutifully created movies. there was a saying that say you can tell if someone is doing it with their heart, and this movie is obviously all of eastwood's heart.

  • @MrWWIIACE Dude, no just no. i mean they're both GREAT movies, but SPR just had a better story plot. and it would really be hard to compare two movies if one movie takes place in Japan and the other takes place in Europe.

  • @MrWWIIACE nooo way saving private ryan is way better, the soundtrack yes that is a different story

  • @MrWWIIACE Well the story is better. But the fighting scenes in Saving Private Ryan are superior.

  • @MrWWIIACE no it`s NOT!

  • @MrWWIIACE Mua, the movie saving private ryan was a really nice movie but it has some serious retard in it..the guy that get his friends killed by just watching and doing nothing. I was really angry when i saw that. But yeh, i think this one is slightly better than SPR (soz for zeh english :P)

  • @REZtastic Saving Private Ryan was too hollywood, atleast compared to Letters from Iwo Jima. The empathy, emotion and authenticity of the actors makes this movie a true masterpiece.

  • @MrWWIIACE Not really, They are both true stories.

  • This is so sad :(

  • Never Forget the 111 million people that died in the great war of 1914-1945

but also never forget the many more thousands of lost souls of whom we shall never know there names.

  • I dont understand why people keep bringing up the atom bomb. It was a necessary action to win the war in the swiftest way for the United States. Bet you people did not know there was still 1 million Japanese soldiers in Japan. EVEN AFTER we dropped the two bombs Japans war council still split 3-3, the deciding vote was buy emperor Hirohito after the Russians had already almost reached Japan from the north and was moving through the Asian countries. Projected Us Gi Kia for invasion of Japan :1mil

  • @MrHoly2123 And you have to remember, they started it.

  • another great masterpiece of Clint 'Legend' Eastwood

  • Its not any certain country or race that commits these attrocities, its just people in general.

  • Why should anyone give a shit about anything in the past? its almost a hundred years ago, please.

  • @cenerozzzz show some respect, if those people didnt die in that war you wouldnt have been giving the freedom to be so ignorant on youtube

  • @battlefieldhero22 I just realised how stupid my comment sounded, and I do respect them. But what I meant was that we didn't even live at the same time as those people, and we couldn't affect any of what has happened.

  • @cenerozzzz Because history tends to repeat its self.

  • I don't giva a shit about what Japan did couse America did it too.. -.-'

  • Peace is not something you wish for; It's something you make, Something you do, Something you are, And something you give away.

  • Both sides committed atrocities. There were no good soldiers or bad soldiers. Only soldiers with orders from power hungry leaders. "When the power of love over comes the love of power then the world will be fine" - Jimi Hendrix

  • no one likes war but it has to happen. i personally think instead of being anti war and wasting your time hoping for somthing that will never happen on this world, you should try to make it easier. writle letters, pray for the soldiers and leaders to do the right thing, and pray that it ends soon with a gud outcome. i respect all soldiers who answere the call and fight for freedom. im sure youve heard it a hundred times before but freedom is not free.

  • I have watched 'Letters From Iwo Jima' many times and I must say that this is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood films. Although I know what kind of atrocities the Japanese perpetrated against the Chinese and many other nations and peoples, I also know that no attempt was made to glorify the Japanese soldiers or present them in an overly idealised (or villified) way in the movie. And I wish more people would watch it after listening to the beautiful music from the soundtrack..

  • i still dont get it the japanese cut are dicks of and shoved them in are mouths in ww2 but when we druped a nukes on them they said that was bad ................???? but still bouth sides did bad

  • @2000jeran

Japanese attack on pearl harbor = Military target & 2300 deaths

US bombing of Hiroshima&Nagasaki = Civilian target & 240000 deaths AND STIL RISING!

Because of the radiation many people still died long after the war was over. A great example is the story of Sadako Sasaki. Look it up @ wikipedia.

  • @bigbangAT i know all this my friend i study this stuff in high school and shit plus my grandfather fought in ww2 marines

  • kidding but great song

  • im crying

  • honostly i feel like everyone that comments on this video believes that they are standing of for whats right and talking about nanking, internment camps ect..but almost none of you would give a shit about japanese soldiers on iwo jima and would most likely be sommenting on the flags of our fathers sountrack saying how evil the japanese where the hole point of this movie is to show you the perspective of the "enemy" japanese did crazy things just for honor even if that ment killing themselves....

  • this music makes me think about World War II, it brings back memories, its depressing but makes me happy in a way, like you feel confident after struggling. This movie made me change my perspective about the japanese, they were not cruel, it was their orders they did what they thought was right for their country. Now I know that the Japanese are not savages, they are just like us.

  • @SuperJuggler123 i a 10 years old i keep on hearing in my head the war isnt going to end beacuse we still have veniswalia and korea i am going to bomb a muslim plane and say before i do it one death can end it all one plane could end it one plane could stop people dying one man will end it all

  • @seXBOXmods You really dont understand that there are no such heroes in war. War ALWAYS has a sad ending and no one can cant stop a war.

  • @TheHumanSpectre so why do people bitch like fags fuck heads if they know dat

  • @seXBOXmods Why use bad words? I dont understand what you want to say please remake question.

  • @TheHumanSpectre so the people who killed bin laden arent heroes

  • @seXBOXmods I didn't say that. Read my replay Again. Can a man stop a war by crashing an airplain loaded with bombs on a country? No. He would have killed more civilians than soldiers. The "heroes" you see in games are not real, that's why its called a game. The real war heroes died in WWII.

  • @thehumanfag really fag they did it to us

  • @seXBOXmods It is pointless discussing this with a 10 year old kid who knows nothing but games, good luck with your life kid it is not to late to change.

  • @TheHumanSpectrenoob go fuck urself i am not talking about fucking games fag

  • @seXBOXmods It is sad to see kids of this generation not being able to control their language. Do your parents speak like that when they talk to strangers?

  • @seXBOXmods This is the consequence of a kid playing mature rated games.

  • @SuperJuggler123 Many soldiers in the war are not cruel, some german, japanesse, and other else soldiers are good people just that they have to do the orders gave by their captain...

  • @Kamelog777 i never said that they were cruel
