  • Lots of the patches sound close to what's on JP-8000, a good thing.

  • this guy rocks

  • 5:19 really sounds like analog.lol.i got one and i love it.now im out to buy the little phatty stage 2,and my studio arsenal will be complete,to start my own new independent label, focused on rap albums.

  • Right, who wants to sell me one cheap?

  • So, the recently Trance fart sounds comes from this?

  • Mr Ujiie is great synthesizer expert for Japanese. Im proud to be Japanese and interest in synthesizer like him. I respect to him. I want to take his seminar when he comes to Synth Festa. I have many questions.

  • 是非こういうインスト(?)を弾きたいのですがおススメのグループや学び方があったら教えてほしいです!

  • Like Trance...hehehe (^_^)

  • nice nice nice job Roland!

  • Not even this guy can make it sound any better than a basic vsti plugin.

  • @maccagrabme well, the sound is somewhat compressed in those videos, the real thing sounds much better, I tested one of those at a guitar center just last week and it sounded awesome, very rich, thick and almost true analogue. True, its not a DSI Prophet or Alesis Andromeda, but the sound is still very impressive. It's predecessor the Sh201 is a very decent va synth, although the filters are not the greatest, but the GAIAs filters are simply stunning: as close as you can get to a true analogue.

  • from 1:31 to 1:36! awesome guitar :D

  • hah...i wanna collab with this guy

  • If I plug a 88-key controller in this machine, it will be capable of playing all the 88 notes?

  • @robsoncozendey it will to some extent, you cant use all of its engines but you will have your standard piano organ string type stuff

  • @robsoncozendey Yes, it will. The gaia has a 64 tone polyphony, which means that it can play a lot more notes simultaneously than there are keys on the keyboard. You can connect a larger Keyboard and have the additional note range, that's what MIDI interfaces are for. AFAIK the gaia was designed specifically to take control signals from other sources, since it was also designed to be easily portable, so the37 note keyboard was built in to keep the outer dimensions to a bare minimum.

  • @dudewhosaysarrh can you use the whole synth, all three engines and controls with a midi controller? i thought there were only some preset sounds for midi

  • @heartkiller93 Good question, I haven't tried that yet, I just got the synth a couple of days ago, and have been creating patches mostly.

  • @dudewhosaysarrh think you could tell me if you find out? haha i wanna buy it but i need some room to shred

  • LOL

  • Is it Good to make some Dubstep and Drum n bass?

i want to buy a synth ... i made my music with fl studio and massive but a real instrument is just bether.. but i dont kow what is good for my sound gernre

  • @KnOdE11 well this wont do drums, but for dubstep basslines i think itd be great

  • yeah i gotta admit certain sounds really are too "digital" but some are awesome too

  • Uninspiring, generic, digital, flat, bland

I was impressed with the FX section until someone pointed out there's no chorus

Better to get a Nord Rack and 3 or 4 Roland FX units

  • 1:00 - yes!!!

  • i've had a gaia for a little over two months and haven't regretted my purchase @ all. fantastic sounds, SUPER easy to use. i've been messing around with synths for 20+ years and this little beast has helped me get a handle on what syhthesis (sound creation) is/how to do it better.

  • This video is the best demo on YouTube of the Gaia's preset sounds. Everyone wants to hear what the Gaia sounds like, this demo does just that. Thank you.

  • LOL @ using Yamaha monitor speakers to demo a Roland instrument :D

  • @rondutch23 there not selling speakers, and yamaha pretty much makes the best speakers around.

  • Great price for all that power but NO CHORUS EFFECT. Roland makes the best chorus in the industry and did not put it on the Gaia. Maybe we will see it on the Super Gaia GT model in the future.

  • @mattsynth Actually there are some Chorus effects under the Flanger effect settings.

  • @mattsynth Actually there are some Chorus effects under the Flanger effect settings. maybe Roland should have renamed the Flanger to Chorus/Flanger to prevent confusion.

  • @bladerunner2125

I agree! They should've. Glad you posted this because I was looking for an answer :D Is it difficult to create a chorus effect?

  • This guy smashes all the other fat bald people demoing it from the west!

  • @MrJohnnyMassacre totally right dude!!!!!!

  • A very good little synth

  • When is the rack coming out? Haha, that's all I want to know.

  • Awesome job, always look forward to you uploading a new video! It's a shame Roland didn't give this one a "stage" option like they did with the SH-101.

  • Good demonstration. The SH201 was a good synth. This one is better.

  • It just needs two things, an LCD and another octave.

  • nice
