Do you guys realize when she did this song? It was wayyyy before Andrew did his on American Idol. Andrew Garcia said his was original, obviously it sounds quite similar to this one. So I wouldn't be surprised if Andrew "borrowed" it from this one.

Andrew also had videos on youtube before he did Idol, other people who did a cover of this song have mentioned they got the idea from him. But all the acoustic versions of this song sound similar to this, there are some that were posted before this one. Not saying you're wrong, just pointing out the fact that this girl wasn't the first one with this cover, Andrew may have borrowed from her, but other artists on youtube have also done this song.

I'm sorry, but people who think that Andrew Garcia ripped off this girl are fools. They obviously don't recognize his talent, maybe if you saw one of his hundreds of youtube videos you'd see that he has a natural talent for taking songs and making them his OWN.

Also, covers usually have to sound SORT of like the original, I mean that's where they come from isn't it? ANYONE who does the acoustic version may sound somewhat similar. Obviously, Andrew switched other parts up where he felt necessary.

It's not that different. To the average person with an average ear (like myself), they heard his version, then found this, and thought "wow, he copied this"... If he didn't "copy" it, this version STRONGLY influenced "his" version...

They are both really unique, but if I had to compare it to something, then ScribbleTunes would be a more Jack Johnson sound (tempo sounds similar to "Flake") and Andrew's would be Joss Stone. Like someone said, his version is influenced by soul - completely different genre.

Either way, I can't say they're comparable because it's like apples vs. oranges. The only similar is the song (lyrics). I like them both for different reasons
