I read in wikipedia that there were open tournements in France with fighters from many martial arts with staff/stick from all over the world, and the Portuguese won every fight, and were absolute champions.
@thelordoflemons It was OBVIOUSLY(facts are better then words!) recognized by all , when these open tournements in France took place , where the Portuguese won every fight, and were absolute champions.
It is not recognized oficially because of 2 reasons :
One it is not of the interest of other techics to recognize or talk about it because they would loose the publicity they have .
Two , because we do not have holywwod , making worldwide movies as they do about oriental martial arts .

Nice footage, but I don't think "It is recognized internationally as the most advanced martial art using sticks." is too accurate ;)
