i understand wanting the same rights as a vehicle but to be arrogant and go up against a 2 ton vehicle just because you have the same rights is just as unsafe as what he did its better just to let him pass by and go on about your day ive had almost the same happen to me but the asshole actually hit my handlebars he screwed himself mostly though because i had worn out grips and the metal sticking through the end of the grip scratched all down the side of his truck.

@deerkilla1304 I don't know if you can tell but there is no bike trail along this road. And I probably do not need to mention bikes get the same rights and responsibilities as a vehicle but I will anyhow. I was as ignorant as you are about this situation about ten years ago. I encourage you try riding a bike or even walking along the edge of the road with traffic buzzing you this close. I'm sure you'll change your attitude very quickly.

i used to ride my bike as a kid to a friends house down a double lane road, usually light traffic but 50mph. i used to ride as far to the side as i could but after almost being nailed so many times and at least one car nailing the horn going by, i actually decided to ride on the oncoming edge, that way when cars were coming i could slow and move onto the gravel. i was 13ish, i didnt know the law

What you do is keep a rag soaked in oven cleaner for this occasion. As you pass the car, simply wipe the rag cross the car.

Yeah, please keep us updated. That's some outrageously dangerous behaviour there, and it needs correcting before he kills or injures someone, IMO.

btw, I wonder whether yelling video camera would have changed his behaviour? I often tell people I'm running a camera and when they hear and understand, it makes an immediate difference.

Honestly most of the vids I see like this the cyclist was doing something stupid. I didn't see that at all here. I believe you're 100% in the right.

That is totally awful. I know 99% of drivers are awesome, but it only takes one to kill or injure a rider. This person should be held accountable for dangerous driving that threatens the lives of others. Most people will agree you shouldn't endanger the lives of others. It's interesting - Anyone who says otherwise about this is probably a deadly driver themselves.

After talking to the other guys on the ride I found out this driver tried to run the pack off the road. I called in to the Dowagiac police yesterday.  I am now playing phone tag but I'll post an update when something happens.
