i was killing time reading thru your comments since you reply to most everyone it seems... anyway, earlier comment you said you stayed with DAD tuning, which I try to do... do you use a capo, or do you just transpose everything... mainly wondering because in the part of Tx where you are from folks do some G and A tuned music.....

Yes the dulcimer is a member of the "zither" family of instruments that originated in Europe. What we play here today was developed in the mountains of eastern America and only slightly resembles its European cousin.

I haven't seen a dulcimer in some time. The last time I saw one played, I think the person was strumming and moving his finger on one string while the other two were drone strings. You seem to have a bit more advanced technique then I remember.
