she makes my ears bleed, with too much cracking in her voice. patsy's voice was so pure and when she wanted a bit of "falsetto" it was blended so well in transition, that it was hard to tell if she was singing falsetto or not. she was a once in a hundred years person, and i doubt that anyone will sing like her in my life time again. i'm 62 and remember her singing on the radio, and believe me, the radio did her no justice back then....
Its January 2012 and Im still singing Patsy at all my gigs... them one in a billion stars always burn brightest and longest... theres noone on earth right now could come close to her natural spitfire charisma and talent. NO DIVA BEHAVIOUR EITHER.
There will never be another Patsy Cline. Patsy's an original. I agree with rockatophat, The undertones just aren't there. You can't imitate the soft undertones. Either you have it or you don't. The positive this lady can truley sing I wonder what she really sounds like when not trying to imitate someone else
Such a beautiful voice, I think she should do her own thing though...I give her props for pulling the Patsy off, but it won't ever be perfect. Sing as yourself Miss Lady. :)
Please check out my performance of Sweet Dreams at a recent competition! Do a search on youtube for: Jennifer Allen winning performance Texaco Country Showdown! Thanks!!!
Good replication but she doesn't have that soft undertone in her voice, like Patsy did. Patsy had a range but also that softness just lying beneath the surface. That is why no one sounds like her and I am betting they never will. She was the best.
@rockatophat You're right. She sounds "hard," and is working too hard to make that vocal cord skip. She isn't relaxed and comfortable enough with her voice to just let the break happen. She's forcing down on top of it.
@rockatophat - I agree completely. And for me the measure is that the heartache in Patsy's in voice makes me cry always. This woman's voice doesn't.......

Something about that Virginian reflection in Patsy Clines voice that can't be duplicated. There was only 1 folks, the sooner you accept it the more painful it get...errr, that didn't come out right! But true. I love these people who go up in Karoke machines and think they sing like Patsy Cline.
Always Patsy Cline produced at Ocala Civic Theatre in Ocala, Florida. Scene design is by James Morgan. Production Manager and Sound Designer is Timothy J Dygert. Excellent production. So good, in fact, that Ted Swindley uses this video as a promotional tool on his website!

We miss you Patsy. The play is a tribute, good effort, but I can't hear the genius of Patsy. That being said... thanks for the memories. DS

Noone can ever sing the classic "Patsy" songs like Patsy did, but we can keep her memory fresh by playing them and singing them like this woman does.
