If you really are a musician, you should understand the concept of subjectivity, and that different music affects everyone differently. You cannot simply declare that so and so is a bad musician just cause you dont like him. As a musician myself, i think Satch, Ptrucci, Vai, etc are bland and weak. Frusc, Clapton, Page, etc are much better musicians, even though they may not be as advanced as the others. Skill does not equal art, and your opinion is not fact. Remember that.

If you haven't studied Dream Theater then saying that their solos have no feeling is an ignorant statement. Just because a solo isn't sloppy or ONLY in the pentatonic scale doesn't mean it has no feeling. If you could play progressive music then you'd understand. Saying all Dream Theater solos sound the same is truly a dumbass pathetic statement because they switch between different modes n such. If anyone's solos sound the same it's the band you're watching right now. Keep practicing though.

I agree that both have achieved the highest level of mastery possible using skill alone. while I prefer the Fru's seemingly mystical ability to become a portal through which galaxies of emotion spill out with ease and vigor, I am also a big Hendrix fan. Jimi could play like fire, while John seems a little less chaotic. either one you prefer, you have to agree that both are the guitar playing icons of their times.
