I just saw this movie, I found it amazing. Very unpredictable and I loved that about it. I wasn't sure what to expect. Almodovar is fantastic filmmaker, I can't really put into words how much I adore his work.

This trailer does suck, but don't let it deter you from seeing this film!!

There's good taste, mediocrity, the infernal abyss, and then Almodovar. This is a movie about a transvestite blackmailing drug-addict, and he's actually the least horrid of the lot. Like all modern film-makers, this man takes the vilest characters of society and treats them as the most normal thing in the world. So much for theater refining the masses... It's as if they try to make everyone as vile as they are. Not to mention, of course, the open charge against the Church...

This movie is a masterpiece. These 'vile' characters are the reality for many people, and this movie reveals it to everyone. Looking away from everything the society and the Church frowns upon isn't going to do much good to anyone. This could indeed refine many people's view of the more controversial levels of society.
