Open e minor I think, uses a D shape up 2 frets for the main riff. Least that's the Ramsey version.

"Watermelon Man" was indeed written by Willis Alan Ramsey. Recommend highly his one album. Like this cover very much, too.

The blues was the last genre I thought Michael Hedges would do, but he does it well. I like how he sounds like he's using a slide even though he plays without one.
