  • The best blues of history

  • Think of a big fat ripe watermelon stuck with a dairy bottle full of daddy's backwater whiskey. Served cold, on the Fourth of July. From small town USA, or to any town on our planet, Hedgie always sounded good. Miss you, man.

  • Does anyone know where i can find the tabs for this song. I cant figure it out

  • tune your A up to B & your D up to E. Fairly simple from there. Good Luck!

  • open e?

  • e minor

  • Whats the tuning ? anyone know?

  • Open e minor I think, uses a D shape up 2 frets for the main riff. Least that's the Ramsey version.

  • "Watermelon Man" was indeed written by Willis Alan Ramsey. Recommend highly his one album. Like this cover very much, too.

  • I think this was written by Willis Allen Ramsey

  • I can't tell you how many nights I watched michael play this live from about 12 feet away in baltimore in the late 70's. Just wonderful memories!

  • Thought he was gonna play a cover of Herbie Hancocks' 'Watermelon Man" from 'Headhunters' album--man, that would have been kinda different--LOL.

  • The blues was the last genre I thought Michael Hedges would do, but he does it well. I like how he sounds like he's using a slide even though he plays without one.

  • I remember when i had this on a bootleg that i listened to probably 100 times... how great to see and hear it again... brings tears to my eyes
