  • David Mason har written a tune in Alasdairs honor that I think deserves some recognition

    youtu dot be/CTlHAi5UZb4

  • It seems like yesterday when Alasdair was telling me how he loved the tone of my pipes and suggested scholarship to Carnegie Mellon. I heard he had died only a few days ago and I'm so shocked. RIP. You'll be marching up the stairway to heaven Alasdair.

  • RIP Alasdair Gillies :(

  • i saw this live. when he was done, i told my brother that he had won, even though at least half of the competitors still had to play. he was on another level.

  • @ebmcclam i don't think there was much question. have never heard a better march strathspey and reel.

  • Had to listen to this again this morning to remember his brilliance. RIP, Alasdair.

  • The greatest. RIP.

  • So sad that he left us so young. He'll be missed. RIP Alasdair.

  • When he's in form, he's fantastic. I don't know if anyone can play an MSR quite as well as this guy.

  • @keydetpiper I know. It's a shame what's been happening to him recently.

  • woww the man's a music machine, loved Inverary Castle

  • He played that march like a boss

  • I agree completely with Wazzupy.

  • Put the original full length clip back up please
