  • omg did the guy in the fireball ferrari die ?

  • @Cheevus no he lived

  • Is that the genuine audio? Sounds almost too horrific to be true, that's horrible

  • PLEASE WATCH!!!

  • This is incredible footage.

  • First copy of this video that I've seen that has real information on it.

  • My god.

  • Why the fuck would they allow a race in such blinding conditions?! The guy in the Porsche driled the car in front of him!!!

  • I scratched my head, and my arm froze up in that position when i saw the crash, it was stuck there for a while, scary

  • Its almost scary somebody can click "like" on this video, who would like this!? atleast both drivers survived...when that song pulled out it was so sad.. =/

  • i clicked dislike when i saw the crash, when i saw the door open, i clicked like.

  • A $10 air horn would have prevented that 2nd crash.

  • Holy shit I wasn't expecting that second impact

  • The sound of that explosion scared the shit out of me.

  • Appalling organization and marshalling. Fuji Speedway 's region is known for those foggy/rainy weather conditions...that race should never have been started, it's absolutely kamikaze-like to drive at racing speeds with such a lack of visibility....

Add that Tetsuya Ota spent about 1mn into his burning F355 before being barely rescued...without S.Yamaji getting rid of the fire he would have died for sure...

  • HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A HARD CRASH!

1st crash video with actual crash sounds

  • The yellow car is an RX-7, not a Corvette.

  • Can someone enlighten me, because i'm a bit shocked.

the ferrari crashed in on the drivers side into the porsche's front, to my understanding the initial crash wasn't effected by both the cars engines, so how did it blow up, was it the impact of the ferrari's gas tank?(if the gas tank is located on the right of the car). i don't really know much of the cars so if someone can give tell me why their was a spontaneous combustion on impact, i would be greatful.

  • @iMoreAsianR the fuel tank of the porsche was essentially exposed from its initial impact crash. The second impact involving the ferrari caused enough force to rupture both the porsche and the ferrari's tanks (as ive understood). Remember both cars are either rear mounted or mid engine mounted so the tanks are up front. Also this impact happened at close to if not more than 90mph and they are using high octane race fuel.

  • @tflLoTuS thanks, i didn't know porche gas tanks were located in the front of the car. upon seeing the clip twice now i can see clearly that it actually was the porches car, who exploded first.

  • WHY THEY COULD HAVE A RACE WITH THAT VISIBILITY?

  • Is amazing how the fuel fly to the other side in the road, The dude in the Corvette was a hero, I won't never buy a Ferrari :/

  • 0:36 you can see Yamaji's RX7

  • Whata terrible crash, Wrong Conditions to even think about racing.

  • Wow, that's what I call a full blast stereo crash. A nasty one...

  • look at the man with the 2 yellow flags it looks like he gets blown away by the explosion :|

  • i've never heard the raw sounds of a crash like that.

  • well guys, that´s 110 octan mixed with some nitro

  • best upload. madest crash. worst officials. ever.

  • Wtf is with the sad music when both drivers survived..

  • @drummerboi14

Because of the poor response that ended a drivers career that could've been prevented.

  • Heres your Jap safety crew at its finest everyone! XD

  • Ota was trapped in his car for almost 90 seconds while exposed to 800-degree temperatures

for more info type Tetsuya Ota into wikipedia

  • Tetsuya actually sued the JGTC on a case about safety, and how he wasn't rescued quick enough during the incident. He won his case by the way, earning well over $800,000 worth of yen.

  • What the fuck were the marshals doing?! They were picking up pieces even before helping him out. I hope they got what they deserved.

  • why the big explosion? was it instant fuel cell rupture or what?

  • It must have been torture in those flames. On the bright side, he got all the suntan he'll ever need! Seriously though, I heard that he had to withstand high-temperature flames for at least 5 full minutes. Then he sued the shit out of the guys in charge! ROFL

  • @MadSupra354 it was ninety seconds of 800 degree Fahrenheit fire.

  • this is the 1st upload ive seen with the actual sound all the rest are faggot music videos thanks for the upload.

  • @sam46952 Yes I agree, although I'd still prefer to find one with nothing but the original sound from the track as it happened with no music added whatsoever. I'm sure I wouldn't understand the Japanese announcers, but I'd still like to hear how they handled this.

  • seemed like the track officials could have gotten to the Ferrari quicker than they did, that poor driver spent a lot of time in those flames

  • @steamjunkie yeah, Tetsuya Ota, spent aprox 50 secons in 800+degree heat which melted the visor to his face. thank fuck Shinichi Yamaji stopped his car, got his fire extinguisher out and put out enough of the fire to enable him to pull Tetsuya out of his car. Tetsuya Ota went on to successfully sue the organisers for negligence for failing to respond adequately.

  • @steamjunkie Which sadly he had to undergo plastic surgery from the horrible wounds, and a hard time restarting his life. He also filed a lawsuit of over 2.5 million dollars.

  • @steamjunkie It's a good thing Yamaji (the yellow car that slowed down) pulled over and used his fire extinguisher to help Ota. Otherwise, Ota would probably have died.

  • holy shit. That on board view at the end... looks like he's driving through the apocalypse

  • My girlfriend wants to know if the marshall, the guy with the yellow flags, survived as he was right next to the fireball?

  • Survived lightly toasted IIRC

  • he was not right next to the explosion, it looks like that, but its because of the zoom effect of the camera, you can tell that when he turns his head when 911 (first car) passes by.

  • surviive but smelted face....:(

  • its like from an action movie....explosions and shit, you dont see that every day

  • its hard to really see with all the fire and the rain and so. i think i also thought it was a nsx first time because its a japanese race.

  • its a ferrari 355.

  • it was... a ferrari 355

  • Comment removed

  • i don't see what's funny about that

  • how the fuck did he end up bumping into there...?

  • Fuji is notorious for its poor surface conditions in the rain. During this race the cars had "dry" racing tires on, not rain tires. There is a dip in the track right there on the home straight, and what happened is the porsche didnt brake in time for slow cars, hit, and the ferrari driven by ota locked the left rear tire, causing him to spin violently to the left, and the porsche was in the way. Ota burned in the car for about 90 seconds.

  • Actually the first car that crashed rear ended another car.which stayed on the track. The ferrari driver saw the car too late and reacted which resulted in a lossof car control.

  • Dudes , is better get a gasoline tank like

F1 .I love races ,i like some accdents and but i hate when someone die or get hurted ,for a mistake (human or mecanic).

The tecnólogi must be used for save live and make easy or lifes , not to kill ourselfs.

I belive we can reborn a lot of times , but we must to take care of our bodys now.And use the tecnólogi only for fun with any pré-cautions is foolysh.I am talk about of old F1 ,everybody loved the races , but was a lot unsave.

  • I belive we can reborn a lot of times , but we must to take care of our bodys now.And use the tecnólogi only for fun without any pré-cautions is madness.

  • big badabum

  • god must be a racingfan

  • Tetsuya Ota was trapped in his car for almost 90 seconds while exposed to 800-degree temperatures. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for third-degree burns to his face and neck area and minor burns to the rest of the body. He required plastic surgery to the nasal area as a result of his visor melting to his face. He also suffered from intoxication from the fumes he inhaled from the fire.

His injuries resulted in an end to his professional career.

  • Holy dog shit!

  • Where is everyone rushing over to help the guys...

  • he survived but japanes bastards cared more 'bout car than driver

  • he survived and got 2.5 mill american dollars after suing them did i spell that right?

  • ouch!

  • that was a big boom

  • He survived!!!

  • yeah i dont get the ferrari exploding that bad out of nowhere wtf

  • the ferrari was a middle motor & the tank was in the front so the front crashed and sumwhere was a spark and that thing went up ; other than that i couldnt explain it

  • oh ok front tank well that explains alot...thx...they should have made tank in middle or something..

  • the porcsh

  • the Porsche had gasoline leaking around the track, and when the ferrari crashed, it ignited the gasoline from the sparks.

  • Google his name, and go to wikipedia. It'll tell you all about this guy. Thank god he survived.

  • crazy! no ambulance for the driver

  • Holy crap that was a bad crash. Didn't think it would be that big of an explosion. I saw another video of the aftermath of it. Really fast response by medical workers getting there. *cough*...not

  • yea, he lived, but I dont think theres anyway that you could crash a ferrari worse than that. I mean seriously.

  • didn't die?

  • nobody died but its surprising as the only real help he got was from another driver

  • i bet the dude waving the flags got fried.

  • Not really.

  • The fastest anyone could average over one lap was 83.602 MPH, Formula One cars!!!! Do you expect a safety car to go faster than an F1 car in similar conditions?

If we assume the start of the footage the safety car went pass, the safety car was 15 seconds ahead of this accident, yellow flags were waiving and the only thing you hear is a screaming Ferrari engine arriving at the scene.

  • They arn't F1 cars there GT Cars and the race hadent even started yet!!! it was only a warm up lap!!!!

  • That was my response to Tigermoth737 who stated "it was the race organisers fault for letting the safety car go slowly, Tetsuya swerved to avoid a slower car, and the consequences are obvious." I know the differences between F1 and GT cars while others did not.

  • A warm up lap is an understatement!!

  • even the guy waiving the flag looks like he got toasted pretty good. I love racing but hate it when stuff like this happens.

  • Apparently he was slowing down and got tapped from behind. This is unfortunately just a racing accident caused by the weather and lack of visibility. This was on a re-start or start, so all the tail enders would be accellerating hard when they came on the original wreck

  • i saw in another video that the helmet melted to his head and i saw a picture of the helmet

    pretty nasty

  • I have seen those pictures too :S

  • @huynhdoodle can you post a link to the pictures, just wanna see the aftermath.

  • @huynhdoodle where are the pictures?

  • Thats crazy how they just let the car burn, should of been some safety people around.

  • you wanna see the rest of it mate. Look up "motorsport crash - big explosion" for 2.29 of footage. The pure incompetence that follows from the safety team is outraging.

  • I don't know

  • The Marshalls, survived?

  • anyone know the music in this?

  • Flag was waiving at :06 and the accident took place at 16 seconds. That is ten seconds for the team to see it, radio it, and tell him to slow down (not to come charging into the corner only to see cars slowing down is response to the yellow flags and go left). And why do we have a repeat of a faulty Ferrari fuel tank? (Nurburgring 1976)

  • This accident and Lauda's accident have nothing to do with eachother, the Team of Ot a would'nt have seen that foootage because the live footage was different, and it was the race organisers fault for letting the safety car go slowly, Tetsuya swerved to avoid a slower car, and the consequences are obvious.

  • Blame the organizers?? Yellow Flag = Slow. Every racer learns this in karting days when they are 7 years old. Safety car on the track = Slow. This was a pace lap! There is a monsoon, you can't drive a pace car at over 100 MPH in that circumstance. Watch Formula One Australia 91 when in 14 laps, Senna was the only driver circulating the track out of 26 starters.

  • The Porsche struck head on where the fuel tank is, no explosion. Porsche gets hit a second time from the Ferrari, small fire. Ferrari explodes like a top gear caravan on the first impact. One basic element, both accident occured with Ferrari's catching fire on one impact.

  • The Japanese F1 Grand Prix moving to this circuit in 07

  • the yellow flag indicate the prohibition of overtaking in that place

  • @AdriIcE it was to slippery

  • What does yellow flag indicate? The one that man on the tower was shaking it. (Around 0:10)

  • He survived...yes he did...badly burned and sued the track for the way they handled it.

  • honestly cannot see how he survived.. let alone tried to get up on his own after being pulled from the burnt out wreck. someone upstairs likes him.

  • Read all the video description to find the second part link!!
