I am a Christian yet I support Israel.The Bible, I think, is clear on this issue.God was the one who brought the Jews back to their homeland and he has a plan.Why on Earth should I be against something God himself has done?...this is something for all Christians who do not support Israel to think about.

@993ironman How can you judge Christianity based on the actions of people who profess it?What if someone professes to be a Christian and yet bears no fruit(which is sadly the case all over the world today)...the actions of fallen man do not equate with the teachings of Christ, he taught to love all therefore those killing and hating in his name sake are sinning.Also, the Bible makes it clear GOD was the one who brought the Jews back to their homeland.He has a plan.

@993ironman It's funny how you have to change the subject,i thought we were talking about supporting of Israel.But if you're going to change the subject, at least do it in context, that was the Jewish law...the wages of sin is death.Christ came and set us FREE FROM the curse of the law and brought us from death to life so we live in the NEW COVENANT NOW not the Old.

@993ironman Actually, the Bible never says a man is better than a woman, they just are created to take on different roles in places like the home and in the church.Again, you continue to take things out of context and dismiss the fact that God has and will pour out his wrath upon the people, and he has used his people Israel in the Old Testament as tools to do so before...:)Praise the Lord.

@GodLovesUs100 It's all in context look it up. Also the Christian god allows the stoning of a raped women for being a victim of a rape. How do you justify this? The Christian god order's the slaughter of non-believers throughout the bible, you can't hide that. He goes as for in mentioning to slaughter the "fruit" of the womb that being the infant's inside.

@993ironman Yes, they are out of context, we are no longer under the Old Covenant first of all, second of all, THAT WAS JEWISH LAW, third of all, as I just explained, the wages of sin IS DEATH..it's perfectly justifiable for whoever sins is worthy of death,you don't see how bad of an issue sin is because you're spiritually blind and cannot see.And fourth, he commanded others to kill in times when he was executing judgeship upon others.

In Exod. we see that it is permissible to sell one's daughter (but apparently not one's son) into slavery.
Heaven is to be inhabited by 144,000 virgin men who have not been "defiled" by women. (RE 14:1-4)

@993ironman Again, you take it out of context...historically wise as well.Sexual purity was so highly valued at the time and Israel must have been purged of all evil and wickedness.Slavery in the Bible is not what you think of slavery today and what's your next point about the 144,000 Jews?I doubt you even have read the book of Revelation describing their situation.

@GodLovesUs100 the concept is referring to women in society. It does not really matter what part of the era you are living in. Any book that mention's women to be not human, or that they are inferior let alone "defile," shows the extent of intolerance against women. The bible proves that a woman is just a mere financial entity and their main purpose is to breed.

"If a betrothed virgin is raped in the city and doesn't cry out loud enough, then "the men of the city shall stone her to death." (Deuteronomy)
So the women are to be blamed for getting raped? "Barbaric."

So your are telling me if a women is raped somewhere in town, and she does not scream loud enough, she shall be stoned? So the women are to be blamed for this? Stop avoided the question.

@GodLovesUs100 A man has an obligation to produce a child with his brother's widow. If he refuses, his sister-in-law is to spit in his face in front of the elders. (Deuteronomy 25:5-9) And in case you are Jewish, you may be familiar with the Jewish prayer: "Blessed be the God who has not created me a heathen, a slave or a woman." Clearly pointing it out that a woman is under the same category as a non believer and a slave. Bingo!

@GodLovesUs100 It's properly in context, let me give you another line referring to what God and Christian's see as a difference between men and women and how they are treated differently. According to St. Jerome, "Nothing is so unclean as a woman in her periods; what she touches she causes to be unclean." In Leviticus it states, "If a woman conceives and bears a male child, she shall be ceremonially unclean seven days...if she bears a female child she shall be unclean two weeks...."
