The book has "staying power" like no other book. It's a great instructional book. A great self help book. Think of it as a fiction book. This Jesus guy, wow was he smart, and kind, he help others, he helped people who really needed help. He always seemed to do the right thing. He wasn't into material possesions. People should also be more encouraged to adopt. A common reason women have abortions is because they know they can't take care of the kid, and adoption/the foster care system can seem just too horrible.
Yes, people do have to be responsible for themselves and drastic times (ex. rape) call for drastic measures.

It's not a good question at all. Comparing an entirely developed human life to a fetus is ridiculous. Abortion is tragic and in a perfect world there would be no need for such a thing. But, I'm sure we all can agree that the world is far from perfect. In this world there exists rape, incest, complications that threaten the life of both the child and the mother, and so many more "x factors". The Hippocratic Oath doesn't utter a word about conception. I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion. A pessary was the most dangerous form of abortion at their time. BTW The guy who wrote the Hippocratic Oath also wrote and taught how to give abortions.

I'm Pro-choice, but please let me compliment you on your non-condemming approach to abortion. Women need an understanding nonhateful place to go for answers. I'm usually the one my friends will recomend if anyone is getting an abortion. So I pickup the phone and educate the best I can. Sometimes they don't get an abortion because of what I've said and sometimes they do; what ever the out come. They where at least able to make an educated decision.

I ask my kids this: When you meet that special person that you want to spend the rest of your life with, are you hoping that, that person has had sex with 10 or 15 other people before you? The answer is of course "NO" , live accordingly. I'm not saying it's easy. And it will be even harder to meet "good" girls if you don't go to church. There are some excellent choises there. I don't believe in telling kids things before they need to know. I remember asking my Mom what "f---" ment? I just wondered why it was a "bad" word, I really didn't need to know about sex, but given the info, I ran with it. All my friends got a sex ed lesson that week. In Catholic H.S. we studied sex from a biological point. What caused erections, ect. it was informative. I really don't know if contracepion is wrong or not. I would be fine with it being taught as an option.

Every day you wake up, you can choose to have a great day or you can choose to have a lousy day. I love to play golf. In the summer, I play as much as I can, it's is only selfish thing I do. A week ago, the knee I had surgury on years back started hurting in the same spot. I would hate to miss golf season, but if God wants to direct my efforts in a different direction, I'm fine with it, I'll consider it a sign and move on.

Ever hear of "first tee" its a program started by Tiger Woods, to introduce poor kids to golf. But any sport will do. Basketballs and Footballs are affordable. The problem in poor areas is the sperm donor has left the building. Poor women continue to get pregnant by these worthless bums and keep popping out kids with no dad in sight...Goes back to choises. The book has "staying power" like no other book. It's a great instructional book. A great self help book. Think of it as a fiction book. This Jesus guy, wow was he smart, and kind, he help others, he helped people who really needed help. He always seemed to do the right thing. He wasn't into material possesions. He just wanted to serve his father. Even in death he was trying to help others. People still talk about him today.

This is also indicative of the level of child abuse in church run kids homes, and abuse in places like the irish magdelen laundries where up to 1996 30,000 girls lives were stlen and imprsioned for life regualrly abused.
