The sti motors use ACVS and it varies the timing of the intake and exhaust valves by using hydraulic pressure to rotate the camshaft by up to 35 degrees.

The car makes what I tell it to make via the boost control solenoid. If the boost control solenoid isn't working, then the boost is limited to 8psi. In my case, it doesn't really matter what the wastegate spring is.

asked the same queston on Nasioc/clubwrx and 85% said ewg 2 loud for DD, which shocked me lol. cuz i seldom go above 3200 so it deff wouldnt open, esp on 20g/fp green lmao

85% of NASIOC/clubwrx doesnt have an EWG, which is why I don't listen to them.. they seem to think you need 480whp to go 11's or be remoately fast. I went 11.9 @ 117 with 390whp, lol..

Just don't go into boost. When you get into boost at X psi the ewg opens. watch his video, look at what RPM his EWG opens... I don't know about you but when i drive my car normally, i don't even go past 3500rpm.

Unless your DD consists of going past 5k rpm WOT each gear to get around...

better for running higher boost and stops you overboosting by opening up a valve when you reach a certain boost pressure and if you leave it open to the atmosphere (the wastegate) it usually screams like in this video, or some people route it back into the exhaust.
