I liked this one the best, although I never played the 1st one. The grand scheme and cover up plot, as well as leading you in one direction in the story, then completely turning it upside down was just so intense.

I just like how grand the magnitude of this story was, and it seemed like ever plot point mattered. In 4, it seemed like the tried to ad convolution in for the sake of doing it, to make the story seem cooler than it really was.

Although, in terms of game play, 4 was bad-ass indeed.

Comparing mgs 1,2 and 3 this really is the best part of them.

MGS 2 is superior to part 3 imo since 3 just doesn´t have that special style.

In fact part 3 is more like rambo mixed with james bond . . . - but that doesn´t have much to do with the original mgs-style. Besides that, mgs 3 is still a fucking cool game, so . . . :-p

I haven´t played part 4 yet but I´m looking forward to it.

lol I understand what you mean...but What was wrong with the originality of the next game(Snake Eater)? I thought it was well developed and the songs were pretty good too. The impact of the storyline alone almost dwarfs the impact from the rest of the series.

feels like a racing game's theme. The climax segment isn't much different. But in the the first 4/5 of #3, it feels like it should be the escape theme when your getting out of a complex about to blow up (of any given platform adventure).

I can't argue with you on the story-line, cause I didn't see much more than 1/8 of the intro level.

There were allegations of plagiarism on the MGS theme in this video believe it or not. So they stopped using this theme to avoid any further trouble.

I agree with Metal Gear 2 having the best soundtrack...well actually Snake Eater was just as good or even better because the soundtrack was based off of Sons of Liberty. But I don't think Guns of the Patriots had such a horrible soundtrack. It did have it's epic musical moments like when Snake was crawling in the microwave hallway. But I agree with you in the sense that Harry Gregson Williams could have done a better job.

You certain? I love the MGS4 soundtrack. Some of the series' best, most moving tracks are in that. Old Snake, Father and Son, Rex vs. Ray, the remix of Mantis' Hymn, all if it is solid stuff--pardon the pun. ;)

It helps kill more enemies online ~_~ But the MGS3 soundtrack was just too awesome. It made almost every single second of gameplay so memorable.

I didn't like MGS1. Yeah the story was great and characters were unforgettable. But i didn't like how Meryl was acting(removing interested in men, but turns out to be in love with snake) and how we had to find her codec using CD case, beating Psycho Mantis by changing controller port. All of these make me don't like MGS1. But I am in love with MGS2 and 3 :D

So its possible That Solid Snake will "die" to everyone, Though in reality, He is alive. He could freeze himself (to stop the aging, and opens up a whole new idea for another MGS game with Solid Snakes Legacy).

I personally would not want a "Halo 3 Style" Ending. I think Solid Snake should die fighting for what he belives in...:)

Yeah i hope so lol. Though I must Admit (i own all 3 consoles so i have played the "Big 3" console exclusives) Halo 3's ending was very powerful, though i dont think its suited for MGS. Since Halo is Sci-Fi and all that, the ending works well there, even if it was a bit Unfair on Good Old Master Chief

I think my games messed up when it comes to the Pain on MGS3 (Subsistence). Occasionally there will be 3 "The Pains" and they wont do anything, then out of nowhere a massive line of grenades start to fly towards me and 2 of "The Pains" disappear:L

Bro, I seriously agree with you on this one. Metal Gear is basically THE blueprint of all tactical espionage action games in the market...unfortunately some games still can't live up to MGS standards like Syphon Filter....what an incompetent game. The cinematics and the storyline are just too awesome, I love this game. I can't wait for the Patriots, it's the only reason why I even bought a PS3.
