I am currently writing a research paper on white phosphorus. it seems to me that the restrictions placed on white phosphorus are reasonable allowing it to still be used in circumstances such as fallujah, but this is a little out of hand if isreal has nothing to hide then they should welcome credible investigation.

More an observation than crit. One more thing israel's use of WP is obviously irresponsible to put it as lightly and coldly as possible; however, most of the areas the IDF was hitting with CAS and fire support WP or otherwise were locations where rockets were being fired from. these locations were triangulated using radar. I condemn Hamas as much as you, and no, they don't follow rules of the Geneva convention. HOwever the aggression from Hamas is uncomparable to that from Israel. Every innocent life is valid, Israeli or Palestinian. However we are talking for more than 100 civilian lives for each 1 civilian life.
Also, one cannot compare the damage of rockets with that of white phosphorous, which will leave serious consequences even after the war is over (ex children being born with severe disabilities)

Since when did Hamas homemade rockets land on clearly identified( by United Nations with GPS co-ordinates) schools & hospitals?Hamas rocket attacks are random targets - they hit wherever they happen to land & more often tha not,they just make craters.There's a huge difference between that and precision strikes by Israel.Who has who walled in and is starving them ?I didn't realize Israel had concientious objecters - there's real courage - after all Israli military service is not optional.

its just that, white phosporus. It is used mainly as a smoke screen to keep the enemy from running as it makes vision almost impossible. The smoke itself has a high tendency to cause eye irritation, so running away from, lets say a burning building, will have to be done blind. And if you were to get an injury from the initial blast, a small cut even, the phosphorus is absorbed into the blood system... Basically it is used to constrict survivors of the blast and keep them from surviving

i agree that the purposeful killing of civilians is wrong, regardless of circumstances. but how can u possibly condone anything that hamas has ever done? beyond theyre terrorist activities which make THEM the cowards and savages (ie blowing up buses of school kids), they are a menace and danger to their own people. and if they had ceased violence against israel, israeli hard-liners would find it much harder to support military operations against them.

You've never been to Gaza. It's literally, a cage. I don't like Hamas, nor do I agree with them. But the fact is, Israel, more than anyone, knew what they were doing when attacking Gaza. It was to make the people so sick of Hamas that they vote them out (while killing as many people as possible).
Terrorism is a horrible thing, but you have to understand it's used by weaker groups who don't have F-16s. If Israel was so concerned, why were the aid groups turned away?
