  • i can't beleive it took your 3/4 years to stand in canter. i was competing at advanced level after 6 month both individual and team...think it might be down to the individual don't you???

  • I wish I could find a place near where I live to take vaulting lessons. That would be so freaking awesome. Those vaulters are insanely talented. Insanely.

Though, I am quite happy being an eventer. But I would like to branch out and try different stuff.

And let me just say... the Lord of the Rings music rocks. hahaha.

  • This is really cool!!

The horse looks like it has no impulsion...but i'm sure it does :p lol

  • imagine if the horse bucked. wow.

  • horses have been known to buck- the Australian National Chamionships 2008, nearly every horse spooked at one area. They have since fixed the problem. But yes, it can be dangerous.

Although, in saying that, vaulting is the safest equestrian sport. It may not look like it, but unlike riding, carriage driving and all the rest, you have control only over yourself and are able to jump clear of the horse if need be. The longer has complete control of the horses, which are very highly trained.

  • I know horses are known to buck- they are unpredictable. I ride and jump, and have been for over eight years. Just saying with vaulting it would be pretty cool.

  • @Skip041 tht is a possiblity, but these r usually REALLY bombproof horses, it is totaly a possibility tho, any horse can do anything unexpected, but every rider has they're fall, tho it probly isnt as risky as a fall from vaulting might b

  • OMG! - Amazing!

  • that has to be one of the biggest horses I have ever seen that's not a draft.or is it a draft? oh well- its cute

  • the germans use a draft? not going to happen in this life time. No, he's just a really big warmblood.

  • wow. this is so cool to watch.

my friend wants to start vaulting... but she has no gymnastic ability whatsoever. xD

  • It doesn't matter if she has no gymnastic ability. I vaulted for several years, and I have no talent. I never was great like the people on this video, but it was the most fun thing I've ever done. Even just learning to mount and do simple things is great fun. Anyone can vault and do whatever they can do and enjoy it. I'm starting to teach it now after 23 years being away from vaulting. I just want to expose people in my area to it, as there is none here.

  • yeah... i understand what you mean. but what i also failed to mention is she has no trained experience with horses either. she's never taken lessons or anything (and though i love her to death!) and i don't think that this would be easy for her to learn, gymnastic ability or not. she has problems sitting the trot in a western saddle, so i don't think it would be easy for her to stand on a CANTERING horse.

  • You work your way up

I have been vaulting for 2 years now

and have just started working at the canter

[although I have been riding hunter jumper for 5 years]

a girl in my vaulting class had her first EVER trot a few days ago vaulting

you dont need to know how to ride to be a successful vaulter.

  • I have never ridden a horse english, but I am state champ and heading into nationals next year. I have only been vaulting for 4 years. I was fat and had no body tone. You get body tone within 6 months, and strength works from there. I have also never centered on a vaulting horse because we lack the facilities.

Also, you learn on barrels (fake horses) and there is no danger. It just goes one step at a time. Stand at canter is high level.. like 3/4 years.

  • @0liviaxoxo you don't need any to start :) the coaches will teach you :)

  • so klasse, ich liebe sie so die Laubenheimer !!!! :-)

  • What on earth is that horse doing?? Disunited muchly?? LOL

Anyhow..Wish I could do that!! My poor horses would have a fit if I tried any of that!!

  • what are you talking about?

    that horse is completely collected.

  • how old is that little girl...is it a kid at the olyimpics???

  • Its funny when they "canter" alongside the horse. :)

  • omg is that lord of the rings music? oh yes it is.

  • I know Germany is amazing !!

    Love you girls

  • wow!! that's amazing! it's amazing to see what you can do with a horse!

  • Wow! I How do they do all that?! It's unbelievable!

  • What a drmatic opening!! That was amazing!

  • Really? It was hard for me to stay interested.

  • thats because it's team. individual is much more interesting.

  • does anybody know where the last bit of music is from?
