I agree that Cubans should be admitted into this country at the same rate as anyone else. If we eliminated the embargo, there's a strong chance that many of them would simply stay in Cuba where goods and services would, once again, begin entering the country and stabilizing it.
Still, to the extent that US citizens are barred from traveling to Cuba, this is still a worthy battle.
If it's so easy for them to visit their family and then come back to the US... back and forth... then why are we still hosting them as refugees from what I thought to be a tyrannical dictatorship?
I agree, the US should not bar them from going back to Cuba, but why are Cubans still a protected group, if everything in Cuba is as great as these folks say it is? They should not be afforded any greater rights than other immigrants if it's they actually WANT to go back.
