today is my third day with my miata. how do I prevent from jumping when I start in 1st gear? I feel ridiculous when it does that

Hmm good job! I had to learn within a week. My second lesson, I drove on the highway on my way home. wasn't too nerve-racking but i made it in one piece. The real practices comes when you're alone with a manual transmission car...!
