  • Rajapakse who as the President of Sri Lanka and Commander in Chief of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces along with his brother Gotabaya Rajapakse, Secretary of Defense led the offensive against Tamil civilians who had taken refuge in the ‘no fire zone’ and is responsible for the ‘slaughter’ of more than 20,000 and more likely close upon 40,000 people.

  • he is a pro srilankan government agent hidding the genocide of tamils

  • you are a big time fraud with big backup

    fak you

  • watch out;;current is going comercial..

  • Propaganda 101.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

    Fuck you Vangaurd.

  • It's a proper interview you dumb ass, no propaganda here. Notice that the journalists almost never give their opinions when interviewing someone.

  • "Fuck you Vangaurd. "

Reporting on the opinion of someone is not the same as endorsing that opinion.

  • so the ltt are Asia's version of the Medellin Cartel? I thought they were defeated earlier in the year

  • Again......"Those who are willing to sacrifice their civil liberties for security are deserving of NEITHER!"

No government can provide or should promise complete security for its peoples. Any promise that they can is a LIE that is used to restrict the freedoms of all.

  • fleam101, but what use are your freedoms if you cannot live in safety?

South Africa has the best constitution in the world in terms of civil liberties and human rights. It's also home to the worst rape rate in the world and one of the top ten in murders.

I wonder if you'd say the same under these conditions

  • The police force is one thing but fighting a war we can't win (thats killing thousands of americans and MILLONS of middle easterners), giving up our rights to choose a health care provider, giving the government power to arrest people without notice or reason, access all your personal information without reason, tap phone lines, shut down the internet all those things are completely different.

  • I would say that freedom is expensive, but worth it. Perhaps South Africa, and many such places in the world, live with the violence and lawlessness that they have due to the lack of respect for peoples inalienable rights and lack of a functioning legal system, and this situation is only aggravated by inept governments taking away peoples freedoms.

  • sounds very true.
