Great add!! North Wilkesboro was a true gem and it's a shame what greed did to the track. I think it will eventually be bought and perhaps renovated for ARCA or something similiar. Still amazing how few seats were here in '86, 18,000. By the time it closed it had around 40k i believe.
I miss ESPN Speedworld. IMSA and Trans-Am, IndyCar, NASCAR Winston Cup, Formula One, Saturday Night Thunder, NHRA Drag Racing, World Rally Championship, and I can't imagine what else!
@nascarman1 if he's like many of us people who have followed NASCAR for a long time, he may still have the VHS tapes since many of us recorded every race on VHS for future viewing. Of course, due to the Earth's magnetic field, many VHS tapes this old have likely deteriorated severely, I know many of mine have... so it is a little questionable whether a video this good is coming from an original VHS recording
I love these old races!

ESPN was the main motorsports network back then. All the major series were on the network.

At 2:18, it appears that it is Indycar action (obviously). Is the track Milwaukee?

Wast It Known As Speedworld in '86 or Not because it said Auto Racing '86.
The Last Speedworld was the 2006 NHRA World Finals at Pomona.

If I ain't mistaken, the music during the starting lineup sounds sort of like "Walk of life" by Dire Straits.
