  • aww, that gerbil is so cute;)))

  • The rodents that they keep showing in the bedding are actually Chinese hamsters. I was a bit surprised when they were shown in this video and I know that they are definitely not gerbils.

  • @HeyIHeartMusic i was thinking the exact same thing as i was watching this!

  • Gerbils are awesome!

  • hi, i am planning to get two gerbils and were wondering when you tame them should you tame both at the same time? Thank u

  • @aquriachick You don't really "tame" them as such, but you do need to get them accustomed to being handled. They are quite agile, so when I took my gerbils out to play (when we cleaned the cage etc) I would put them in a large box, with toys and bits of food in there. That way I could pick one up and stroke him, (over the box)and put him down then pick up his brother. You have to be careful that they don't escape as they can jump and suddenly run/bite, so best only handle them over the tank/box

  • Hi Iam using a bedding called Boxo and my Siberian hampster is losing her fur and I don't know what I am doing wrong

  • Such a fail video. More than half of this information is wrong, and she did not even include the most crucial information. |: Stop using petstore managers who don't know shit, and are only working there because they couldn't graduate college. Nothing "expert" about this.

  • Those animals are NOT gerbils! They are Chinese dwarf hamsters. These are NOT experts. Please don't listen to them!!!!!

  • @BalletBecca

The animal that she is holding is a gerbil..

  • She forgets to tell that gerbils should be kept together instead of just one per cage. Gerbils can die from loneliness!

  • Those aren't gerbils! They are Russian Dwarf Hamsters!

  • @FifiDebord Really!?

  • @breeraee

no, my two boy drink pretty often, also when i'm watching.

    (my gerbils are very healthy)

  • I miss my gerbils so much.

  • Isn't this a video on gerbils? The only animal that's a gerbil in this video is the one she's holding. The rest are hamsters.

  • care a gerbils be in the sane cage but they are not bother sister

  • I just got a new gerbil yesterday. He has alot of fun in his cage and he eats right, but hes not drinking his water....i think that its the water bottle but im not sure,do u kno why hes not drinking his water?

  • @TheMisssongwriter i got my gerbils 2 days ago, and they are desert animals, ad nthey do not drink much water :)

  • @TheMisssongwriter

Gerbils dont need alot of water they come from the mongolian deserts

And can live with out water for quite a while so dont worry :)

  • @daffodill7 oh thanks....but does that explain why he doesnt eat that much

  • @TheMisssongwriter

Gerbils don't drink very often and when they do most of the time it's when their humans are not looking. I rarely ever see my gerbils drink! :P Watch the water level and if you notice that it never changes then something might be wrong.

  • I have the right kind of food for mine, but I'm worried I don't have the right kind of water.

  • my gerbil seens like its lost control i its right side plz message back shes about 5 or 6

  • mr.tubs is what i named the gerbil that she was holding...XD

  • one og my gerbil bits me Alot. Dont know what to do

  • I would love to hold my gerbils but im so worried of them getting away (I have a cat too). The only time they are out of the cage is when i put them in the exercise ball..

  • @renrutism I wouldn't suggest the exercise ball rodents have very poor eye sight and the ball gives them even more strees because they're sight is even more limited. Thus when they run into things it's like getting in a car accident for them and I doubt that feels too good. But I'm not judging just informing they're your gerbils as long as you're taking care of them like I sure you good they're yours to do with as you please <3

  • Thumbs up if gerbils rock and r cute and r good pets

  • If this clip is about gerbils, why are the animals in the tanks clearly hamsters?

  • do gerbils bite?

  • @rocklee300000 They are actually the least likely to bite. They will do exploratory nibbles and licks.

If they do this do not yank your hand away. instead simply blow a short puff of air in there face and tell them no.

  • @StudioVibe blowing in their face gives them seizures, NEVER do this scientists do this to study them

  • whats the difference from expert village and ehow???????

  • @simplemagickids Thats my question,, Ahaa.

  • I had a gerbil that lived for about 5 years

  • @hilowdog1 WOW

  • my gerbil does not like me there 3 females ive had them for 2-3 days there babys who are 6 week old my friend gave me them its the first time there a way from there family How do i get them to like me ?

  • @Waycookiecrumbles well you want to take it slow it is a process. I suggest putting a piece of food in you habd and letting the gerbils come to you also as the get more comfertable with you lift you hand up. the first few times they will most likely jump out but they will get more used to you. eventually you will be able to hold them as much as you like! hope this helps!

  • @sarah1121rocks thanks

  • @1999Kaleigh first you have to make so many exersize whith the girl and with the boy give hun really solidfood

  • sand is good to, I use aspen and rarely give them a container of sand, they really like it to clean themselves out, You can sometimes uee it as bedding because gerbils are from the desert, and deserts have sand :) but only occasionally

  • You could probably have a very THIN layer of sand.

  • @Horsecrazy1770 cool thx, the whole tank or a container?

  • ohh theeres a pet planet up me street :)

  • ummm im getting a gerbil for my b day and i was wondering my sister is going to get one tooo but they will be in a seperet cage is it ok to do that but let them play with each other sometimes

  • BONASIZE

  • Is Cedar safe??

  • no because the oils in it can cause the gerbil to bald!

  • what about pine????

  • No pine or cedar, as they cause health problems. Buy aspen shavings or Carefresh bedding.

  • sorry i didn't reply to you earlier. no pine is not safe either because it is dusty and you should really stick to aspen or carefresh bedding!

  • hi uhmmm i dont kno if anyone will answer this but my gerbil is about 7months old and it is sorta energetic and it breathes very very VERY slowly most of the time and he eats and drinks normal im concered for him

  • why are you concerned ?

  • One of my gerbils makes this squeaking sounds. Its sort of a squeak or wheeze. I hear her do it at night and sometimes when they are both playing together. And when I pick her up and she runs all over my hands freakin out she makes that sound like she is out of breathe. But Hershey doesn't do it. What is going on?

  • how can i make my gerbils spin at the wheel?

  • @japalfalfa

just put them in and they wil eventually go in on their own..

  • Im looking for gerbil dont they need freinds.

  • yes

  • Yes, if you want to have happy gerbils you have to get atleast 2.

  • @alehnaga you have to get 2 gerbils or they will die from stress :)

  • @alehnaga Yes they do

  • this is a hamster lol

  • this is not a hamster!!!

it is not a dwarf hamster

  • Is it normal in the first few days that my gerbil Isnt eating I don't know what to do

  • If you've only just got your gerbils, they will be exploring their new habitat. Also, gerbils are designed to not need as much food and so they have sufficient amount of time to find the food. However, it is pretty likely that they will have been eating, just when you're not there.

  • i have a problem with my gerbils they keep biting me eery time i put my had in the cage they dart away at the slightest movment how can i make them like me i put my hand in the cage and let them sniff it but they bite ot i give them food everyday what can i do what have i done wrong please help

  • They think they can bite you, so after a while when they bite you, you should drop them and pick them up, that way they'll know they did the wrong thing.

  • That happens when you first get them. It hurts, eh?

    Heres what I did:

Clear out a room and let the gerbils run around with you. Stroke them while doing so, and it should only take around an hour.

  • ok il try that
