I guess it depends on when you meet him, my brother and I met Geoff at a signing a few years ago and he was very rude to my brother (whose autistic) and rude to a number of people, but here he seems like a decent chap.
i got offered to get coached by him, don't listen to most things he says because he got done for drugs and 6 of his athletes have been done drugs aswell and there only ages between 13-18
Don't believe a single word from 'louloumanu'. Geoff has NEVER been near any drugs EVER! The facts from the coaching issue are simple, an AUTHORISED muscle builder protein product that Geoff innocently agreed to his pupils using to compliment their training programme to bulk up was found to contain small traces of a banned substance in the sporting world. Geoff had no knowledge of this substance being banned or frowned upon and IF HE DID know about it he would have banned it. He was stitched up!
i met geoff many years ago at butlins-in ayr/scottland + he was very down-to-earth/very-nice-guy...no airs + graces about him! i was very struck also by his "MASSIVE-SIZE"....he looked even stronger in person, than on tv....he was MASSIVELY_STRONG_LOOKING! what a nice bloke though.
Hi Goeff, you may not ever read this butt, i was at Butlins in skegness as a kid (1984)approx, and you slaped me round the head, so thanx for that, nice fella :-)
You know, when I was a kid (20+ years ago) Geoff was always on TV, and kid's TV too. I have fond memories of him, and even when I would cast my mind back and try to picture him, he would always pop up in a really good light. I always though that he was simply a thoroughly nice chap, and it's nice to see, 20+ years later, that my memories of him closely match how he really was, and how he appears to be till today. Geoff is a living legend!
i was not talking about Kaz i was talking about todays strongman and the crap running with weight events, they all train at the events now,and Capes was the best at bending and throwing and pulling ,he beat Kaz at all of them, but Kaz was the strongest no dout.
yes but they train with the events now,you could not get any atlas stone then, and you could say that the type of events they did then, most strong man now would not be eny good, can you bend a 15/16''bar or put a 56lbs weight 17'2''over a bar or lift 28 bricks hand to hand,or toss a 280lbs caber 57'3''or put a 5lbs brick 149'8''I very much dout it.
todays strongmen throw 50 pounds barrels over a 16 foot wall. geoff would have been nothing if kazmaeir was allowed to compete against him in his rpime lols. kasmaier was the ebst and the greatesr.tfg

Nice bloke, but let me tell you - as an amateur strongman myself - he would'nt stand a cat in hell's chance angainst the top strongmen of today.
E.g ...the heaviest atlas stone when he competed weighed 140kg. I can lift that and I'm competing at the grass roots level. World class strongmen today are lifting stones as high as 230kg, and can toss the 140kg around like it's a pebble!
yes, but the thing is, training is so progressive that 20 years from now it'll probaby be over 300kg. Steroids and the like along with improved techiques mean theses guy gets stronger with each generation
