My baby brother was born three months premature and is now a healthy active 7 year old. He was born at 6 months gestation and lived. He was alive and an actual person not a thing. If you don't want a baby then practice safe sex and if you really don't want to risk it then practice abstinence. Well it's simple, while it is indeed human I don't feel it can be classified as a person. It is so undeveloped (and I am talking about foetus' in early stages of development here I don't support unmedical late term abortion) that it has not *developed*, never has had, the ability to have concious thought and may be a living collection of cells but because because of it's lack of personhood I feel the woman comes first.

Actually no. A person on life support who is sure to recover is breathing as a result of technology and there is no reason to turn of this technology. A fetus needs the women, it needs her body. Some states have their own legislation in which the time frame is shorter however I just had a baby and was told after I found out the sex (22 weeks) that I still had two weeks to have an abortion because they could test the baby to see if he would have any genetic disabilities such as down syndrome.

My baby brother was born three months premature and is now a healthy active 7 year old. He was born at 6 months gestation and lived. He was alive and an actual person not a thing. If you don't want a baby then practice safe sex and if you really don't want to risk it then practice abstinence. Don't kill a baby just because you were stupid enough to get pregnant in the first place. Adoption is always the answer. There's some one in the world who wants your baby.

Well it's simple, while it is indeed human I don't feel it can be classified as a person. It is so undeveloped (and I am talking about foetus' in early stages of development here I don't support unmedical late term abortion) that it has not *developed*, never has had, the ability to have concious thought and may be a living collection of cells but because because of it's lack of personhood I feel the woman comes first.

I think it is the womens choice. Personally i could not go through with an abortion but for some people it might be the right choice. Who are we to judge anyones decision.
However i do think 6 months is too late unless the womens health is at risk.

Please explain how the taking of an innocent human life can be another individuals choice? Life starts at conception, all the important aspects of who a person is, gender, skin, eye and hair colour etc are present at the moment of conception. Abortion is not a choice, its murder.

Life starting at conception is a view from religion, not science. A woman should be punished for not remaining a virgin for life if she doesn't want kids or isn't ready? That is an unrealistic expectation. A woman with thoughts, hopes, dreams and fears is more important in my eyes than a non-sentient early stages foetus' right to exist inside her body.

A person on a life support machine is not physically living off another *human*. They also will not be causing intense physical pain to another human when removed from the life support machine. Therefore the arguement in invalid.

Actually no. A person on life support who is sure to recover is breathing as a result of technology and there is no reason to turn of this technology. A fetus needs the women, it needs her body. Therefore it is always her choice what she does with her body. You cannot force someone to do one or the other

@ProLife7777777 Plus when a person is on life support, the immediate family has the choice of cutting it off. And if a machine can be developed to support fetuses at no expense to the mother, then by all means abortion should be legalized, but life support is not taking away nourishment from someone else's body.

@Claireyelle I think at 6 months they can do a C-section and save the child. My mother was born at 6 months and lived. I don't think abortion should be legal after three months unless something happens where the mother could die and the baby can't survive on its own outside the body.

who are you to say what other women should do with there bodys? its not all about that. some women do it FOR the baby. if the women had some sort of std, when the baby came, so would he/she. if the women was rapped, or if she was a drug addict/alcoholic. do you know how those babys will live/ they will live in pain, and agony for how ever long it is they even last. its the womens choice, no one elses.

It was a touching video, but get your facts right. Fetuses cant think. They have as much conscienceness as a vegetable. The fetus is part of the woman, thus she is in control of it. It has no rights until it is born.
And for those who say it is hindering potential human life, so is masturbation; so is every period a woman gets during her life. Because that wasted sperm and the discarded eggs could have been children as well. Just a thought. I respect everyones views as long as they respect mine

You can't abort in the first week! you wouldn't know you were pregnant. But I agree, month six is not right, she could have waited a month and had a c-section to give the baby up for adoption.

@kathyrid It's not legal the 6th month. Throughout the whole US, its not legal after the 4th month, in most places its not legal past 9 weeks.

@dustygirl122 Well actually you are wrong. In the US you can have an abortion up to the end of the 5th month. Some states have their own legislation in which the time frame is shorter however I just had a baby and was told after I found out the sex (22 weeks) that I still had two weeks to have an abortion because they could test the baby to see if he would have any genetic disabilities such as down syndrome.

think about it- in the instance of rape- rape is wrong, correct? well, killing a baby doesnt fix the fact that a woman was raped. 2 wrongs dont make a right. and then with not being healthy enough, you shouldnt have an abortion you should have the other type of surgery that makes you healthy. if that kills the baby, even if it was forseen it is considered morally correct
