  • hahaha Bob Murray threw a chair after they lost.

  • danny cleary is the man. wings for life!

  • this goal sucks!!! you can't put the puck in the net by pushing the goalie's pad... each time a player pushes the goalie and the puck enters, the goal is not supposed to be accepted and this one should not be an exception.. I'm not a Duck fan but this goal has cost the series for Anaheim.

  • @patatedodue NHL rulebook:

69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks - In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

In other words, that's a good goal; Hiller never had the puck covered or frozen, and so it was still fair game.

  • @Crymson1 thank you for reformulating the sentences... without your own definition I would not understand (jk). But you really think that the contact with Hiller was incidental... comon, he litterally pushed his pad to put the puck in the net... look at 0:10 ...

  • @patatedodue It doesn't matter. Hiller did not have the puck frozen; in attempts to bang in an unfrozen puck, incidental contact is permitted.

  • @Crymson1 but it was not an incidential contact...

  • @patatedodue It absolutely was incidental contact. Cleary was attempting to hit the puck with his stick. He knew the general vicinity of where it was; Hiller didn't have it frozen, and so if Cleary was attempting to hit the puck and hit Hiller's pad instead, then it was absolutely incidental contact.

  • @patatedodue If you look, Cleary is trying to hit the puck and hiller drops his pad on his stick. You cant argue for a guy going for a puck and having a goalie drop his pads on a guys stick. At that point the puck is fair game and anyone has the right to it. Just because the puck is behind the goalie doesnt mean that Cleary cant do what he can to get the puck in the net.

  • goaltender interference...notice that cleary never touched the puck. DOesnt matter though the best team won (pittsburgh)

  • I was at this game... Ive never heard the joe that loud.. it was great... fuckin getzlafs a faggot too

  • cbc such a better viewing experience than nbc

  • red wings are the fucking best my niggas

  • Nothing makes me happier than Fairy Perry's rage break of his stick on the net after the goal goes in.

  • Still think the Ducks were the toughest team Detroit played that year.

  • absolutely. the wings blew by columbus, didnt have much trouble with Chicago, but played horrible in games 3, 4 6 and 7 vs pittsburgh. This series was a nail biter right to the end. i didnt even know if the wings would win. one of the best teams at the time against one of the best upstart underdog teams i've ever seen. a classic series (though i think "underdog" is a bit of an understatement because they were out of the playoff standings most of that season and ended up beating No.1 San Jose)

  • Yeah, they were certainly tougher than Chicago.

  • the ducks were tougher to beat then the penguins, but pens had bettman!

  • ha it was Pronger who blew it! Nice work donger

  • :22

  • 1: The goal was legit.

2: Even if it wasn't, the Hossa no goal in game three makes up for it and then some.

3: People from california know nothing about hockey.

4: California has the largest fag population in the world, not just in San fagcisco, but every Ducks fan.

5: Ducks fans think Emilio Estevez is still their coach.

    And the end all:

6: You voted for Nancy Pelosi, who is the mutant hybrid offspring of Stalin and Satan.

And speaking of Hybrids, only a fag would drive a Prius.

  • You are forgetting that the goal is also making up for the way the anaheim fucks cheated (got helped by NHL) to their way to the cup a couple of years ago. Karma is a bitch ducks fags isn't it? ^^

  • that is an original post, did u get that from one of your detroilet natives or was it iraq?

  • no it was from your mothers.

  • junior high jokes are clever, its not as funny as detroilet fans being owned by the penguins in the finals though. Nice work suckin that dick internet tough guy

  • hey you aint a pengwhine fan so go and lick perry pussy asshole.

  • must be lonely in the bomb shelters in detroilet, hopefully tomorrow you can avoid the bombs and blood shed and use your food stamps to get a decent meal

  • oh no really is that the best you got. you wanna be assquak.

  • whoa bro you need to settle down and hit the bowflex maybe get a little muscle milk in ya.

  • Penguins got owned the year before so awesome joke

  • howd you own us if it took you bad calls injuries and 7 games to beat us dumbass

  • cleary is rich

  • probly one of the best playoff series' ever....these teams beat the crap out of each other to the end man

  • The puck was way loose. What a GOAL! Hella fun game to go to. GO WINGS!!!

  • I absoloutely LOVE THIS GOAL! It helped get rid of the Anaheim Fucks.

  • @MrRebuttal

the anaheim fucks who happened to be that close to giving pittsburgh a new adversary in 09

  • @Tbagurdrumset94 Yeah, the same Anaheim Fucks who only made it to game seven because, in game three, they benefited from one of the worst calls in NHL playoff history.

  • kinda funny think how hossa goal has been vindicated because of this goal that shouldn't have been counted. A goal that cost u a series is much bigger than a goal that cost u a game early in a series... its funny to se people say "duck fans bitch about everything" when redwings scored a goal the shoudn't have count in game 5 of the series that costed them a game, but i have never seen ANY duck fan bitch about that. redwing fans are so fucking annoying and unbearable.

  • As has been noted countless times in discussions on this goal, the NHL rulebook expressly declares this goal legal.

  • ya mindlessly shoving a goaltenders pad is not interference.

  • He was banging at the puck, and Hiller did not have the puck frozen. It is incidental contact; every single hockey analyst I saw analyze the goal declared it legal, based on the rulebook. I'll repeat the rule here:

Also, bear in mind that unless Cleary has X-ray vision, he wouldn't know where the puck was.

I'm over the character limit here, so see my next response for the rule.

  • banging the puck? the puck was behind hiller, and i know for a fact don cherry said it wasn't a goal.

  • Hiller did not have the puck covered, and Cleary was banging at it whilst being knocked down. It's incidental contact. Should I quote the rulebook again?

  • u used that word banging... he wasnt banging he was shoving, bang implies he actually took his stick off his pad.

U CANNOT "BANG" at a puck BEHIND THE GOALIE, its in goaltender interference. cant just say "puck was loose, its not interference". that would be same as a player push a goalie on his back and saying "the puck was loose, its not interfernece. "

i have no problem this being called a goal, but its against the rules.

  • Don Cherry is also a pompous idiot sometimes though.

  • Amen to that. And this is a Canadian saying this...I jumped right out of my seat on this one, shat, stroked and orgasmed at the same time lol. So glad we beat the dirty ass Ducks, we're the better champ no question ;)

  • @09jamosc all the time

  • anybody know the songs played after he scored?

  • The first isn't really a song; it's a repeated segment. The second is 'Sweet Escape' by Gwen Stefani.

  • Well, obviously you didn't know I was being sarcastic.

  • You directed that comment at the wrong person.

  • What the fuck are you guys crying about? What about the goal that was called back when Hossa scored? You know, the premature whistle THAT HANDED YOU THE FUCKING GAME.

    idiots.

  • Boohoohoo. Bitches like these fans always cry about something. Agree 100% about the Hossa goal being called back. I'm sure these same fans were saying, "Quit being a baby" when THAT happened. Also agree 100% on the fact that they are idiots.

  • Homosexual goal? Interesting.

  • Yeah, quit crying..

  • Yeah, because you totally know for sure that Anaheim were going to win that game and THEN advance past the Western Conference Finals.

  • hahah

  • Not a goal. It should have been called back. You cant shove the goaltenders leg with your stick and have that push the puck in. That's interference. You can see it happening, look close. As far as I'm concerned the Red Wings never beat Anaheim and didn't even deserve to face chicago. Detroit Red Wing fans are by far the most unbearable group of people in all of professional sports and it's only by pure luck and stupidity that they ended up in the finals this year. What a shame.

  • Cry more you stupid Duck Fan. It was a goal and nothing you can do or say will ever get rid of it.

  • How many more times does the rulebook need to be quoted until people will stop making comments like this?

EVERYONE from the corps of hockey analysts anywhere disagrees with you.

  • kiss my ass. what a shame your still alive.

  • Thats it Pens fans?, thats the best you got? "all wings fans are fags" nice hockey knowledge

  • Comment removed

  • You are just mad because we are going to win another cup. Cry some more homo

  • pens suck. have you heard of a chant called you got lucky. that what you idioits did when you won the cup fags.

  • amen brother.

  • That should not be a goal the goalie had it fozen under his pad and Cleary just pushed Hiller

  • wait, are you looking at the same net view, at what point was it frozen under his pad? at no point did hiller have control of that puck

  • Too bad so sad. GO RED WINGS!!!!!

  • the puck was not frozen under him. it was still moving. Need to see the back angle. He NEVER had the puck under control.

  • The sad thing about gooberman's(lol) comment is that the F**KER knows he/she's lying!!! gooberman knows very well that hiller DID NOT have the puck frozen. It was loose and hiller in fact knocked the puck in when he closed his legs behind. Check 0:59. IT'S LEGIT FOLKS! Wether gothman96 or others like it or not.

  • His leg gets shoved by Cleary dude, you can see it. Interference. No goal. Sorry.

  • LOL.

Incidental contact. Got it? Or did Hiller have some attraction field that had the puck frozen by default? And did Cleary have X-ray vision to know where the puck was?

    Give it up, dude.

  • The puck was going in before he even pushed him first of all. Second of all you cannot call bullshit after what happend to Hossa. So its even WINGS WIN

  • I loved bieng there for this..... PLUCK-A-DUCK!!!! GO RED WINGS!!!!!

  • shutup wings fan

  • LOL WERE WINNING ANOTHER CUP LOL LOL

  • For all you Anaheim Fuc errrr Ducks fans (lol) who want to bitch about the Cleary goal please do us all a favor and STFU!!!

Why? Because if anyone gets away with sh*t it's the Ducks.

Remember the HOSSA GOAL "NO GOAL"!?! HOW ABOUT THE PRONGER CROSS CHECK ERRRRR DETROIT PENALTY that helped the ducks get back in the game on the pp? You know the one where Chris Pronger knocked the Wings player into Hillier and the refs gave the Wings player the penalty. PAYBACK IS A BITCH EH ANAHEIM (LOL)!

  • yeah but a call is a calll, even if its wrong

  • Yeah, but you make it seem like Anaheim only lost because they didn't play hard enough. They played plenty hard, and got a few gifts (so did the Wings, it was all a wash imo). It's just that Detroit played harder. They either just wanted it more and/or had more left in the tank at the end.

I had said that, I'm glad they won it when/how they did, but I really wouldn't have minded an OT game for that game 7. As long as Detroit still won. :P

  • i agree, ducks had a few bad games against the wings tho.... not trying hard enough.

  • They also got a few "gift calls" that kept them in the game/series. The game 3 Hossa no-goal call was BS. But, we did still win the series, so I'm almost over it. lol

  • and btw the DUCKS got 8th place and still maneged to defeat the SHARKS and push the wings to game 7!!!!!!

    props to ducks!!!!!!!1

  • I don't know anyone that actually knows hockey that thought Anaheim was gonna be an easy out, so to speak, in either series. San Jose is a perpetual playoff choker, so that wasn't that big of a shocker. And I was saying from the start

(not on here, because I hadn't re-created myself an account just yet. :P)

that Detroit/Anaheim was gonna go 6-7 games with either team being capable of winning.

  • I have to say, I hope Scott, Chris, and Ryan enjoy a long, boring summer of golf with no Stanley Cup!

    GO WINGS!!!

  • you all only like the red wings just because they are good.......... :(

    GO DUCKS!!!!!

  • ha though i admit that there are a lot of bandwagon fans, most are not, i know most people that like the red wings are from michigan, and most pittsburgh fans at least, have never been to pittsburgh...there are no ducks fans

  • Been a Wings fan longer than Anaheim has had a team. Please, try again.

  • im not talking about you, u seem like you know about hockey....

IM TALKING TO THE POSERS WHO ONLY LIKE WINNING TEAMS!

  • Well, then I retract my statement. lol

But, to be fair you did say "you all". I would be included in "all". :P

  • this just in...dan cleary is amazing whats wrong with all the anouncmers n shit Cleary has been an unreal player who can play with any line in the alast 3 seasons he has always been great and im glad finally people are realizing it GO RED WINGS

  • inference??

  • Both Pronger and Getzlaf failed to stop that pass, go home...

  • And ALSO, you want to talk about dirty, how about Niedermeyer just "ACCIDENTALLY" losing his stick 3 shifts in a row and leaving it laying right in the way, one of which resulted in a Ducks goal?

    THAT"s dirty, Ducks fans.

  • hey ogre2128, go think of some better insults with the wings, you could use them

    GO DUCKS!!!!!

  • I've got a real good one, basically along the lines of what ogre already said; the Ducks are playing golf, the Wings are still playing hockey. Nothing more need be said on the subject.

  • Uh, the Ducks aren't going anymore bro. They got beat, because the Wings are better.

  • Get over it Wing haters. We're off to fry bigger fish now.

  • hey villarox7... go play golf with the ducks

  • thats cuz they were penalties retard

  • Doesn't help your argument any. If they refs were in the Wings' pockets, then why would they call the penalties in the first place? Again, your little "argument", more like "tantrum", just isn't holding any water.

  • stupid red wings stupid refs, stupid goal

  • aww sore loser huh? id hate to see you when the wings when the cup again this year, lol good fight

  • your a fucking idiot buddy

  • stupid early summer vacation for Anaheim...

  • Red Wings refs? Do you honestly think that refs in the Red Wings' pockets would give Anaheim not 1, but 2 5on3s?

  • Yeah man, sucks when calls don't go your way, doesn't it? Remember game 3, and the blown call that kept the Ducks in the series much longer than they should have been?

Fucking hypocrite, I'm sure that was fine with you.

  • ... legit goal.

  • I think you just inspired me to make my own videos. haha but I'm too lazy to! but good job with this video I can't wait to see more of your work

  • They owed us that after game 3. How sweet it was! Best game I have EVER been to! So sweet watching karma come crashing on them LAME DUCKS. Muahahaha!!! GooooaaaallllL!!!!! Those whiney Quackheads were lookin' for phantom calls ALL game! I have never seen such a whiney team in all my days. Dirty dis-respectful Ducks. Hiller looked like he was crying in the hand shaking photo's after the game. WAT A BEEEAATTCH!! Enjoy the GOLF!!!! Muahahaha!! GO RED WINGS!!!!

  • Love it.

  • yeah and prongers the worse one. and i love how it just happened to be him who left cleary open in fron of the net to score perfect ending to a great seris,

  • There is no controversy whatsoever. The puck was never covered so Hiller has no argument. Had the puck been covered, the whistle would've blown and play would've stopped. But it wasn't covered.. and since it was already behind Hiller to begin with, pushing his pad (if that's what happened - I'm not sure I even buy into that) isn't goaltender interference in the slightest because it doesn't inhibit his ability to stop said puck.

If that was goalie interference, so is every shot banking the puck

  • off of the goalie's back.

  • The only thing more hilarious than Hiller complaining about this goal after the refs bailed him out in game 3 was watching him roll around faking a head injury earlier in the game.

Who knows, maybe he'll turn out to be a really good golfer in the post-season. ;)

  • NHL rulebook:

69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks - In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

In other words, that's a good goal. A TSN panel on the subject unanimously agreed.

  • Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Maybe you can use of the offseason to figure out the actual rules to the game of hockey. Anaheim is lucky the series even went 7 games.

  • lol

  • what are you talking about? I bet you have never laced up a pair of skates in your life. First off, the wings are the much better team. Second, your calling the wings pussies cus their not dirty like every player on Anaheim? and Thirfd, look at the hit column for the series and tell me who won...exactly

  • I just love how when he was taking his helmet off faking a head injury, it actually looked like he hit the back of his head on the post.

  • Either way Go WIngs !!!! I can't wait for teh CHicago series. If the WIngs don't do it this year then I would love to see CHicago get it. BUt Im a diehard WIngs fan xxoo

  • congrats to respectful wings fans - to all others, you must happy your detroit suicide watch has been delayed another round -

  • payback for game 3, carma is a Bit

  • The refs looked at the replay of the goal and it stood. If they could have done that back in game 3, there may not have even been a game 7. Unlike dumbass Brad Watson, the head referee in this game actually made sure the puck was still loose and it was.

  • ftbobs im with u not just cuz im a detroit fan, but cuz the first push moved his pad a little bit and knocked the puck in and the second push did nothing cuz the puck had already crossed the line and scored. i just wish the ducks wouldve forgot about it and said u know that was a bad call, but at least we gave a surprise cuz we got this far.

  • I hope Hiller was still saying his pad was on the puck, while watching the replay in the locker room.

  • this wouldnt have happened if the refs got it right before. Series only got this far because of the refs, and the NHL is the worst league for the head office to admit mistakes. even worse than the nfl

  • Yes, Cleary stick moved the pad, but he wasn't really pushing the pad, he went for the puck and Hillers pad was on top of the stick. He moved the pad, but he wasn't pushing the pad, he was under it. That makes the claim that he wasn't going for the puck lame.

  • It is a legitimate goal. The sequence from 57 - 59 seconds clearly shows the goalie pad knocking the puck across the goal line. However, the pad was well outside the goal line and was not covering the puck. The goal wouldn't have counted if the pad had been pushed over the goal line while covering the puck. Go Wings.

  • love the champs great game detroit rocks

  • Clearys goal wasnt interference... the puck was loose.

  • I love that after the Hossa non goal Hiller made a statement a long the lines of "we fought hard and deserved to be lucky and get a call go our way" and so on. think he's saying the same thing about this? EVEN THOUGH, the goal was completely legal regardless.

I hope one day the announcers will wake up and label Pronger a straight up GOON once and for all and stop saying "oh, hes such a great defenseman"...give me a break!

  • Red Wings are Cheaters. That goal was bull shit.

  • 69.6: Rebounds and Loose Pucks.

In a rebound situation, or where goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

    ------------

The official NHL rulebook allows it. please explain how they cheated?

  • How'd they cheat so that the Ducks couldn't get it done on 5 on 3's? Need we remind you about game 3? No one cheated....it was a good goal. Learn about hockey before you start running your mouth.

  • I wish all of you Ducks fans would learn the rules of the games before spewing your shit. Anyway, bring on the Wings! Go Hawks!

  • I wish Detroit would do what the US car industry has done and Go down the shitter.

  • Well, wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which hand fills up first.

  • That won't happen anytime soon you fuckin prick. Unlike Anaheim, we don't base our team off physicality and fucking scoring always near the goal mouth on power plays. So even though our car industry may not be as strong, the Wings will never go back to struggles anytime soon. Go fuckin play golf with the shitty ducks,

    Red Wings = PRO NHL

    Ducks = WWE Wrestling

  • Pronger cross checked Hossa into Huller and the puck ended up in the net. Rules would say that goal should be allowed. Instead the Wings get a penalty and Ducks get a Power Play goal.

Also earlier in the game a Duck slashed/ hooked Osgood's stick when they scored one of their a goals on a loose puck.

  • You know- I'll give credit to you, Quadiddly. Most people don't possess the ability to admit they were wrong on the internet.

    Cheers, mate. :)

  • Hossa' goal wasn't allowed in game three. Karma can work that way.

  • Having a slow day, so I went beyond the rule I found (69). The NHL includes situational examples, and whether the goal stands. One states that where the player makes incidental contact with the goalie while attempting to play the puck, the goal stands. Therefore, I REVERSE my earlier opinion, and the GOAL IS GOOD.

GO WINGS. (small amount of bile in mouth.)

  • boo hoo duck fans you cheat every shift ,carlyle admits it ..

  • Quadiddly- you're wrong, and here's why: You're using the wrong rule. Refer to 69.6, REBOUNDS AND LOOSE PUCKS:

    69.6: Rebounds and Loose Pucks.

In a rebound situation, or where goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

Conclusion: Puck was loose. Cleary was trying to play puck. Goal!

  • A little karma after the Hossa "non goal"!

  • Yeah, well, no matter what you california faggots say, the wings got robbed in game 3, we deserve a cheap goal right back at ya.

  • That may be so, but we were all probably robbed of precious hockey playoff time with both. But, the premature whistle was made by an on-ice official in the heat of the moment, properly following the rule that you blow the whistle when you lose sight of the puck. The goal last night was allowed by the upstairs guys who are supposed to know their own rules. Wings probably win anyway, but we all lost watching more hockey are are the worse for it.

  • Oh, so it isn't the rule that until the goalie has POSESSION they blow the whistle? I don't believe that one bit, pal.

  • Facts: Cleary pushed goalie pad with his stick causing goalie's leg to push puck into goal.

    Rules:

    Rule 69

69.1 ....contact, shall mean any contact between a goalkeeper and attacking player...by means of a stick....

69.3 If an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper in his goal crease, the goal will be disallowed.

    Conclusion: NO GOAL.

  • I think the Wings might have got a a good call here but the REFS Blew 2 calls that resulted in goals for the DUCKS...

  • the ref was in a good position this time to see that the puck was never frozen by hiller. Good call. Good goal. Good game. Good series. Bad officiating for the most part. Both teams god jobbed in this series. But this goal here was legit.

Oh yeah, and Pronger can lick a fat c*ck

  • oh well.. make up call for the early whistle goal.. See how it feels to have one not called the way you want it.. Or the way its supposed to be.. Good Game

  • yeah that was a good goal, and seemed a lot of non calls it looked like. and as for pronger he is good but damn he is a cross checking bitch lol anywho Wings won so its all good :)

  • I was there and teh DUcks got away with a bunch of BS all night Pronger should've been in that penalty box about ten times. The ducks got lucky on that one goal they didn't do anythign a broken stick bumped it in.

  • Actually Bobby Ryan hit it in. Plain and simple fact right there.
