A lot of this has to do with culture and interest. Men naturally are more interested in mechanical and spatial activities as well as pressures from society making men want to be good at such things. We'd get made fun of and insulted if we are crap at these kinds of things and thus are motivated to do them well. Also, if you ever watch preschool students, the girls tend to be better mechanically than the boys, this may be evidence that societal pressures make women and men different.

My street has a T - junction in it with parking spots on the top side of the T and the bigger line of the T. My father reversed from the end of the small line, into the big line and then used it as a weird 3-point turn. A woman at the end of my terraced home then asked: "How did he reverse like that? I could never do that." To which I replied "How are you able to legally drive?"

This woman reverses badly into her parking space each day because she's scared of reverse.
