  • Look at those seats.........looks comfy

  • THIS IS SEX!

  • I'm mostly referring to the 2nd guitar solo.

  • This is why I love strats. People say that Les Pauls are much better than strats because strats can't get a thick tone. I own both and they can both get beautiful tones from all ends of the spectrum. If you know about tone and use the right pickups/ pedals you can get a nice fat sound on a strat. This tone here reminds me of a grittier SRV tone.

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS PINO PALADINO?!!!

  • he's awesome.

  • its like guitar sex

  • @cynical1200 ahahahahahahahah

  • 6:05 ... did that lick just happen?

  • Well played Mayer. Well played.

  • J.J. looks like Bert (or is it Ernie) in his shirt.

  • I Definetely need to buy a fuzz pedal!

  • 0:43 he's looks like Phil X !

  • It doesn't sound good if you dont understand whats going on. Someday maybe you will understand and see that Mr. Lombardo here was right.

  • wtf is he doing in the intro. sorry superfans, it doesnt sound good

  • @Jst0911 I'm a listener to John Mayer's music, and I've got to agree, it sounds really weird and out of place. :/

  • @EliasFrostMusic Nothing is out of place with John Mayer anymore, lol.

  • @Jst0911 Get out of here man. That intro is amazing. Go out and find anything in the world as hard and as groovy as that.

  • @Jst0911

but doesn't that solo make up for it?

  • what kinda pedal is using on the intro?

  • welcome to the electric church!

  • parcendo com Mika nesse video! KKK

  • these people look like they're in free concert. Shoot, don't they know who they're watching

  • I seriously do not understand how that crowd can stay so fucking quited at such an groovy intro and song!

  • @TheRJSMusic it could be because they are sitting back and appreciating the music rather than jumping around and screaming over the top of it

  • @TheRJSMusic Some people just want to sit back and experience it passively, nothing wrong with it. I LOVE sitting on the sidelines in a Tool show just sit and spectate the experience and take it all in. Not everyone loves killing it by jumping around. I'm sure people in this crowd and totally with John Mayer, you just never get to see their faces or their expressions.

  • you r my hero John. period.

  • I am sure that I would not be sitting so still for that, infact I would absolutely be OUT of my chair dancing around it ...even if I was the only one!!!=)

  • smooth as hell, good play MR. Mayer!

  • the bass in the intro is soo damn good... i like it

  • ah that tone is milkshake THICK.

  • this is real music!!!

  • @nesselegant08 good job!

  • im almost positive john mayer doesnt go to church regularly. that would be one funky church

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson yes it is

  • i love this intro !

  • Is this really a Church?

It looks like it at 6:37.

  • That's his signature strat. It's just a little worn in places.

  • This is NOT his Stevie Ray Vaughan stratocaster. This is an original 1964 strat that he bought after he became famous. The original SRV strat is spotless, no scratches, and has gold hardware and a reverse vibrato.

  • @andrewguitar67 no its his Stevie Ray Vaughan signature that he worked at a gas station to buy. He told us about it at Berklee.

  • his long hair is just so sexy

  • best john mayer band = DeLa+ Mcintosh+steve jordan DONE.

  • This is the best incarnation of the band that he's ever had. Give me JJ Johnson over Steve Jordan any day, it isn't really John Mayer without De La and for all his off-key vocals you can't beat David Ryan Harris. I've no idea who the keyboardist is but he runs circles round Charlie Wilson. And i don't even need to say anything about Robbie McIntosh.

  • @MattCapulet That will alays be, IN MY OPINION, the best band combo that John mayer will ever have. He and De La are live/touring musical soul mates, David Ryan Harris and Robby MacIntosh will always be the perfect duo that play the fillers everyone isn't listening for but always hears, and JJ Johnson knows john too weel by now. When Mayer had those backup singers (who i saw in concert) they didn't fit. They were really just dancing 90% of the time. the "Continuum" lineup is where it is at.

  • he sounds just like the album all the time. that takes skill. plus all the extra live stuff, plus all the different hair cuts...so beast.

  • This is my kinda church!

  • 6:21 looks that their showing their tiny dicks off lmao

  • What a great intro,great groove,great band!

  • is that his signature strat or the SRV strat?

  • @aquarian444

    That's an original 1969 Stratocaster.

  • pete cornish fuzz pedal at work in the start. total bad ass.

  • @matthew909 do you know how much this pedal cost ?

  • @matthew909 i shall be looking into getting one of those pedals!!!!! Jeez!!!!!!!

  • This is the best groove i have ever seen...JM rocks out there....

  • You can't be frontin on the man's skillz on the guitar! Cause he be PLAYIN!!! that thing 4 real!

  • This melody and rhythm ... is just so... sexy! Hell yeah! :)

  • please check out my guitar cover of this great song.

  • ha they told me I was crazy, but there is a place to go and worship him!!!! haha

  • How come I cannot watch/listen to this guy without totally melting?? I mean seriously, it blows my mind!

  • i want him to do to me what he does to that guitar

  • @LoveforGia you wanna get rapped ?

  • @antony5linteau W.T.F ? im sayin he can strum my pussy anytime.. the way his body rolls he knows how to turn a woman on..i bet hes as good a lover as what he is a guitarist.. anyways he only tweeted like 9 hours ago, that "it aint corny to fall asleep wid ya guitar.. its beautifull"..lol.. check out the rove interview.. and i saw that after i posted my comment.. open your mind..

  • @LoveforGia Amen to that!

God bless him! He´s a lovely majician! :D

  • @LoveforGia i know, i know... I'm so jealous of that guitar! :D

  • Can any kind soul, tell me the model of the guitar, that Robbie is using?

  • @cachacets Thats the white guy right? He doesn't get much screen time here but it looks like a grestch to me.

  • wow...i love steve jordan, but sometimes i do miss JJ.

  • Two words. "TRULY AWESOME"!

  • Anyone who doesn't realize how talented this man is doesn't deserve to get to listen to him.

  • great groove at the beginning, he should do more stuff like that

  • his guitar skills are almost as good as his hair, almost!

  • This guy has mad guitar skills!

  • Dear John Mayer:

FUCK YOU AND YOUR LONG FINGERS!!!

  • Fuck you people then for not knowing what godd fuckin music sounds like.

  • He is so Talented!!!

  • God, the audience is stone still. GET DOWN.

  • @dodgeballhero man show love, john cant play a finger pickin chord wrong ! crossroads style intro is rockin. this is a ex church, the chapel gigs always had a blissed out reverant vibe cushions and candles, but this mite be the closest thing to a sermon, hahaha.. rocknroll jesus. just kidding j.k. people are watching in awe..

  • dude that intro was sick!! and think about it he is sooo blazed and prob more then half the people at this show are as well, so atthat show it was probably amillion times better yaknow?

  • @cougarsoccer13 not true.

  • @cougarsoccer13 maybe nicely buzzed, that's more his style.

  • I don't know what you idiots are talking about. This intro is groovy as shit

  • @Mharr1s totally agree

  • Lol I'm sure I'm gonna get a bunch of haters who thumbs down this but when this started playing I thought it was one of those videos where they take the video and then play someone playing some shitty music behind it and then I skipped around and it was real. I was like WOW! lol... I love John but I didn't care much for that intro... Just my opinion

  • I liked it but everyones got there own opinions

  • I'm totally with u. I love John Mayer but that intro sucked!

  • @beauder1 oh fuck you.

  • @JeevesMorris1 lol, totally could be taken that way...

  • this song is not the same without pino....

  • @matrixman609 actually, I think the bass sound is the same, except I suppose the bass was a little low on the equalizer. Either that or it's simply because we're listening through computer speakers.

  • anyone know what sort of effects he's using for the intro? i'm thinking maybe fuzz and wah with the blues driver, correct me if i'm wrong

  • there was definitely fuzz. but what i think hes doing is using the fuzz, with his keeley katana boost, then just cranking both tone knobs on his guitar to zero. thats just me though. correct me if im wrong

  • @nicktight423 Is that how he got that static overlay?

  • man id love to tell you if i knew what static overlay was...

  • This is one of the two best live versions [the other being the Live in L.A.] of Vultures and only 23K+ views? Good gawd.

Sexy John Mayer. Especially at the beginning when he's about to sing the first verse. Mmm.

  • the best intro in vultures that i ever seen!

  • loved his old band...

  • old band? its still existent lol..

  • nope... some of them have been replaced

  • @TheJuliusJT

ohh you mean from like the any given thursday sort of phase right? ahha

  • @pastyourhorizon ? nope... look at his new band/album.. new drummer and so on

  • @TheJuliusJT

his new album's drummer is still his old drummer steve jordan lol. this video is showing jj johnson which is his other drummer lol

  • @TheJuliusJT Actually, Steve Jordan was on some of his earlier recordings, and of course is the Trio drummer, and now the Battle Studies ensemble.

  • cheers man. i saw him playin with steve jordan. nice 1

  • who is that drummer

  • JJ Johnson. beast.

  • does anyone know what the tat on that back of his left arm says?

  • Home (the other says Life)

  • back of his left arm says home. back of his right arm says life.

  • Lol just can't help but smile every time i hear that intro, i don't know why!

  • you don't know what a groove is then

  • Comment removed

  • a drunken tone deaf monkey? wtf you talking about?

  • The improvised beginning to this song is just a collection of animal noises.

  • he's just rocking out man

  • haha

  • Could you do me a favour, good chap? Could you shit down my throat just once? I promise to drink every last drop. I swear of it.

  • what the??

  • tone deaf?? Monkey?? ... Dude, first of all tone deaf is hardly a thing you can say about someone who has won several grammies, played with legendary guitarist, and made some of the most original songs in this else very unoriginal music world we live in today.. And monkey? Well i wouldn't know about that, i mean he has fucked Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpsons, and a bitchload of girls like him.. that's one goodlooking monkey i guess

  • A weird intro but otherwise a good song.

  • well said

  • The introduction to this song is beautifully composed for the completely tone deaf.

  • HAHAHA the most groovalicious intro ive heard on vultures...I need to purchase that octave pedal

  • Totally Groovalicious..

  • I didnt know john was a churchgoing man.

  • This is John Mayer People!

  • Where's his carpet ?

  • lol, that beggining.. XD, but the bass is awseome there

  • not to offend or correct anyone, but isn't "i've got dreams" an otis redding song?

  • and you clearly don't have these brains. nice english padre.

  • i love how he is playing is signature 3 tone sunburst. sicky tones. this song is awesome

  • thats a cool fuzz tone! like it

  • its not fuzz, its octave pedal

  • I WISH MY CHURCH HAD THIS GOING ON! haha

  • don't we all lol

  • that was fkn awesome :D

  • is that some kind of fuzz in the begining?

  • sounds like an Octavia

  • good version.

but i think the solo from the abbey road version is slightly better

  • But you have the epic intro in place of the solo.

Honestly, that's was just an epic intro I've ever heard anywhere.

  • I agree.

although talking about intros, the intro to Gravity on the Where the Light Is live album is amazing.

  • Yeahh and he makes a refrence to I've Got Dreams by Buddy Guy. That's such a good song!

  • so crispy!!. . anyone knows what spec, pedal he uses?

  • i don't think people realize how good mayer is...

One of the best musicians of our time!

  • DrVrTx

I think one he'll get the recognition he deserves in the U.S and international.

JM skills is seriously top notch.

  • just coudn't agree more

  • i know! i am one out of the three people in m y grade who knows who he is! it's pretty sad.

  • JohnMayerology should be a class in school if you ask me. I've never seen a more tasteful player/singer than he.

  • yea, it should.

  • yeah same here! and the other people only really know him for his hits. but then again it's been said that 92% of teenagers listen to rap now.

  • wow...cool:)

  • best version of vultures

  • hey where did u get this video

  • At Emule or Torrent (mininova), can't remember which one.

  • damn

  • In 50 years that intro will be looked upon as when Jimi Hendrix played with his teeth.

  • great end!

  • that intro is epic!
