Trade him ... are you INSANE ... this man is a freak beast on the mound. One of the hardest throwers in the game ... I've never seen a pitcher hit 100mph on a regular basis as this guy does. Screw the playoffs last year, I know it's fashionable to bitch about the umps but come on ... they were making Ox get 4 and 5 outs almost every inning he pitched. I guess he throws to hard for them to see the pitch ... freaking morons.
@JediDude38 he doesnt pitch 100 mph on an regular basis. he only does that when hes closing and hes not a closer anymore. only person that pitches 100mph on a regular basis and goes beyond to 105 a newcomer from dominican republic and he just pitched an inning yesterday.
not even nolan ryan THE HARDEST PITCHER IN MLB HISTORY can pitch 100 mph on a regular basis
watch more sports center before u praise jonathon broxton
@Willster54321: WOW, you were really paying attention when you watched Sports Center last night weren't you ... NOT ... first his name is Aroldis Chapman & he is from Cuba NOT the Dominican Republic. He has only been clocked at over 105 2 times in the minor leagues this year and those gun readings have been shown to be in error. His top speed last night was 102.7. Every fastball he threw was 97 & above and he threw only 8 pitches in a 123 inning of relief.
@Willster54321: Now you claim that he is the only pitcher that hits a 100 on a regular basis ... WRONG ... ever hear of this guy named Stephen Strasburg????? The Washington Nationals pitcher who struck out 14 in his major league debut a couple months ago. He is a STARTER who consistently hit the 100 mark, has a change up clocked at about 90 and a breaking ball that is around 88 and almost as unhittable as the nasty slider that Chapman throws.
@Willster54321: Strasburg is on the DL now and is scheduled to have "Tommy John" surgery on friday, 09/03/2010 because he has torn a ligament in his elbow. I hope I'm not taxing your baseball knowledge too much when talking about "Tommy John" surgery but you can look it up if you don't, and probably don't, know what it is. Dude you are flat on your face right now looking like a moron because you obviously don't know a damned thing about baseball or baseball players.
@Willster54321: As for Broxton, I'll praise him all I want to thank you very much. Yes, he has lost the "closer" job in LA for the time being. His mechanics have become irregular and it is making him very ineffective as the Dodgers closer right now. It doesn't matter if he closes, is short or long relief or starts, Broxton is a power pitcher whose fastball ALWAYS hovers in the 95 to 100 range. His fastball is getting hammered right now because he can't get his breaking pitch in as a strike.
@Willster54321: When & if he gets that working there is no doubt in anyone's mind that he will once again be the closer for the Dodgers. As for Nolan Ryan, you don't have the knowledge base to talk about this man who is both my idol and the best power pitcher the game has ever known. Do you realize that he actually rarely hit 100? It's true. He was smart enough to know that it doesn't matter how hard you throw if that's all you got it's gonna get hammered eventually.
@Willster5432: Watch ANY interview with Nolan and you will find that his go to pitch when he needed a strike out was not his fastball, it was his change-up. This is documented FACT. Now I realize that the word "fact" is one you don't know the meaning of so I'll stop showing what a moron your words show you to be and leave you with a little advise ... If you don't know what you're talking about then shut the hell up, that operation to get your foot out of your mouth is getting expensive.
@JediDude38 you just proved yourself wrong and stop using language like that. you just making you look desperate for ppl to agree with you Nolan ryan never said any thing about "his go to pitch when he needed a strike out was not his fastball"and now you are wrong at three fronts. 1st jonathon broxton doesnt pitch 100 at an regular basis 2 nolan ryan go to pitch was never the change up, 3 how do you know that i dont know wat fact is your not god nor are you a human capable of an omniscient mind
@Willster54321 : Oh, now you have to bring "God" into it. I never claimed to be God but I do know a hell of a lot more about baseball and Nolan Ryan that you will ever know. You see to forget that you screwed up and said the guy that debuted last night, you remember, oh that's right, you didn't even know what his name was and said he was from the Dominican Republic when he was really from Cuba. As for Broxton, you know nothing about him either. 97 - 100 is where his fastball has always been.
@Willster54321: The person you describe in your little incoherent rant is YOU. YOU are the one who was wrong about everything you said in your original reply to me. For Christ's sake you didn't even know who Strasburg was and he's been blowing up the league since day one. You're a fucking moron who has no right to call themselves a baseball fan. Go to Hell where idiots like you belong.
