The only reason why people compare Hey Monday and Paramore is because they have female vocalists. BUT their music are really different. Paramore is heavier, darker and more rock-sounding. Hey Monday is more to Pop/Rock or Pop/Punk or whatever.
Haley's voice is darker as compared to Cass. Plus, Paramore is heavier. So I don't think HeyMonday's copying them. Just so happens that they're both female leads.
In my opinion the only similarities are that they are both sort of power pop, they have female lead singers, and there both emoish styled. i am a huge huge paramore fan, like 3 and half years now and i can sincerely say they are nothing like paramore her voice isn't even similar to hayleys in the slightest, they are just playing the same kind of style of music.. and you can tell these guys are beginners, but the girl does have a good voice, and they are alright. No complaints. It's just too bad that paramore has a song called "Woah" and has lots of woahs in it.

hey monday was like more poppish but her voice was really great.. paramoe and HM are totally different.. paramore is more heavier.. theyre more poppy.. cassadee has a nice voice though :). ehr it will still mature though .. coz she is still young... hayley is like a fire ball of energy on stage while cassie looks cute to watch too :) . ilvoe them both but theyre different

i think this band rock and i cant wait to see them live when they open for fall out boy in NZ! i think they kinda sound like paramore. but i like hey monday better than Paramore!

whoa whoa whoa whoa hold up hey monday is completely different from paramore...trust me i have all the songs of paramore...they are completely different i tell ya..the cassadee's voice is more girlish sounding while hayley has a more mature voice...and cassadee doesn't headbang that much

personally, i see no similarity between cassadee and hayley on stage. Paramore's amazing, and so is Hey Monday, but Paramore's more mature sounding. Just give Hey Monday time. It's only their first album and things only get better with time. Paramore's my favorite, but Hey Mondays definitely second. Female- fronted bands are so much better than male- fronted.

I like hey monday, I know them only a few days and already luv their sound but cassadee needs to improve her performance on stage, that lil' jumps doesn't convince at all, hayley can do it better. luv cassadee's voice though

paramore is my favorite band too and I think hey monday sound like them, first of all because they do the same kind of rock that is emocore, and the lead singer of both bands is a woman, and nobody can denie that cassadee moves on stage is very similar to hayley's so it's impossible not compare these two bands.
