Greek history was re-written by the west (specially Americans) in 18th century to promote democracy and beat down British monarchy. thousands of historical records by Xenophon were discarded and instead work by Herodotus, an Athenian hardliner was chosen to support western history. this is not the only example of vandalism in history, part of Persian history has been changed throughout the last 2-3 centuries.
