I think you and Dino Stamatopoulous of Moral Orel thought exactly the same thing. I agree with you. @deadspell17 I wouldn't really describe Moral Orel as twisted and dark. The show has very dark and upsetting moments. However, what makes it good is that people are able to find happiness in their screwed up lives.

There are several characters in the show that are in extreme opposite situations and none of them enjoy the situation they are in. They message is that everyone has problems no matter what. The best we can do is find happiness anyway. Which we do. That isn't dark at all.

John Darnielle, I can honestly say, is probably one of the greatest songwriters of all time, up there with the likes of Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and Neil Young. His lyrics are as poetic as they are descriptive, tragically ironic and you could actually feel real emotion in his voice. But the neat thing is a majority of his songs are just stoires he made up (except the Sunset Tree), making him the John Updike of songwriting.
