  • What'll they think of next? A mouse?

  • @Stashmyash Haha, the horror!

  • You need a patent to fight with Valve XD . Is interesting , but will be more interesting in a PC version of the game , without autoaim , to watch the accuracy of the gamepad

  • It's really player preference, coming from PC games I was too used to 1:1 movement. Joysticks for me are too sloppy, if your stick is pinned to the right and you need to shift your aim left you have to move the joystick from pinned right to past center and then left past center. That is a big movement when milliseconds count in FPS games. With this control if you are aiming right and need to move to the left it immediately moves left or any direction you move. Nearly 1:1, FAST and accurate!

  • Son of a bitch, I woke up thinking this would be a great idea! Then I looked it up and found out someone has done it before.

    Now I feel slow.

  • Works realy well, just wot i wanted.

  • You can get a fat bitch with a hunger for icecream before i even WASTE $120 bucks on this controller

  • Patent your mods bro, or microsoft takes it...

  • But does it disable the turn acceleration?

  • @dtrrider1 i guess you met my hamster than: D

  • How many balls does it come with?

  • WELP!

  • I want one so bad, but $120 is too much for me. :( I'd buy one if they were $80

  • wish the ball wouldnt fall out tho.

  • Got mine a week ago, can't understand why no manufacturer at all so far build anything like this. BIG improvement in Skyrim,Crysis,Borderlands,GTA4,Just Cause... all those games that suffer to much from the lack of precision on a right analog stick work very well with this baby. I use it on PC, mouse & keyboard can collect dust now ;) What would top it would be a controller that has both, right stick + trackball.

  • Does the ball just sits there with gravity? Perhaps you could use magnets to keep it in place if there is nothing keeping it from rolling off when the controller is tilted much.

  • can i use this for PC? is there a wired version? wireless=cancer so no thanks

but i would LOVE to have a wired version, this looks great

  • @TheSUBGAMER rofl what, wireless=cancer? lol

  • @dtrrider1 lol dont pay attention to that comment my son, please use wireless technology as often as possible -)

  • @TheSUBGAMER Try not to reply to my comments, it causes cancer.

  • @dtrrider1 dont you worry about that my son,you already have it -)

  • @TheSUBGAMER That reply makes less sense than a hamster with a pancake on it's head.

  • Are you guys working on a PS3 controller?

  • someone make a ps3 version god damit and i will buy it!

  • these controllers are going to blow up around the world soon

    there genius

  • How many top rank players use this?

  • @NousDonnons

All of them, but they wont tell ;)

it really is all about personal preference.

  • @NousDonnons None trackballs are terrible.

  • asd

  • first off let me say that this is a very awesome mod and have ordered mine, so i will be doing a detailed review and a first hand impression of this device as soon as i can there needs to be more video reviews of this device so that people who are sceptical can see if it is any good or not. cant wait to recive mine soon

  • @crewster666 can you tell us if it works for PC games that have xbox controller support, please?

  • @theadman024 haven't got mine yet stuck in customs I believe...but i am 100% sure that it would work on pc as it emulates the joystick to act as a trackball so therefore it should work.

  • i wish they'd make this standard on consoles. unfortunately, a detachable plastic ball has "Choking Hazard" written all over it, and the minute some kid lodges it in his windpipe, MS and Sony would yank it from the shelves.

oh well, i'd rather give my money to Jay than MS/Sony anyway :)

  • D:

  • its cheeper then XIM woot

  • still prefer the bumper

  • Looks harder

  • I WANT THIS FOR PC!

  • @TheSUBGAMER you can use a xbox controller on pc... plus you can buy a trackball for pc.. so your wish came true!

  • That's awesome! I'm a PC gamer and I use a trackball, playing FPS games are just so much better with a trackball. Do you make a modification for the PS3 controller? I can solder, do you sell a DIY kit?

  • You know how the next generation consoles will guaranty their success? They will use a trackball.

  • If this cost as much as a normal controller, I would buy it. It's overpriced for me.

  • I have a Logitech trackball and the first day I bought it I finished MW2 in the Veteran setting of PC. I also often play CS with my friends in lan using it. Just awesome to play with.

  • igrip just released a new version, they replaced the mechanical mouse with an optical mouse, sells for $99

if the pc version has the plug-n-play functionality that a regular xbox controller has wilth many pc games these days, this still wins out even at the higher price. but I will probably pick up an igrip soon until the pc version is ready

  • Some questions:

-In the video, he takes the ball 'out' of the hole, so does that mean that the ball is not really connected to the controller? Or is that just in the video to show how it's made?

-This works on the 360? Or is it just a 360 controller connected to a PC?

  • @jovlem no trackball is ever "connected" to the socket it rests in, you can take the ball out of any mouse to clean the rollers and the ball itself

it's for 360, I think pc version is on it's way

  • @TrackballController can you post some online gameplay with games like COD4, MW2, GOW2 and more. i want to buy one i haven't see enough. if you want people to buy post more videos that shows off the product

  • Sweet idea man

  • I FUCKING BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE OF THEISE FOR AGES OMG YAY!!!!!!!!!

  • I want more videos just so I can slobber over them, please.

What about third person view games that use the right stick for the camera, like, say, Assassin's Creed?

  • This controller should be sold normally in stores. It is the most natural stuff for FPS for consoles.

  • @JackTorranceReDruM A mouse and a Belkin n52 TE is the best controls ever for FPS games just too bad Microsoft doesn't support it on Xbox. That said i will stick to the PC for my FPS games better graphics anyways.

  • I don't play consoles, but I play with a marble mouse on a pc, and I can say it's great for fps.

  • I've had Jay's mod for a little over a week now, and I have to say it's a nearly flawless implementation of a trackball into a WIRELESS Xbox 360 controller. Being a PC gamer for eons, moving into a console in a very large sense is like taking a step backwards. None of the controllers on ANY console can ever match the speed and accuracy of a mouse or trackball., especially in FPS games. Jay has entered these muddy waters of console reality and came out clean. THIS BABY REALLY WORKS! 4.5 stars :)

  • Hmm. About time someone did this. I think a trackpad would work better, though. Less dents that way.

  • this is great! but do you have a wired version?i really dont like wireless ones because i aint a fan of cancer

  • You should mod an xbox live arcade controller to have a trackball. I'm baffled that not one of the arcade controllers has a trackball. Would be awesome for retro games like missile command and the like

  • lol that looks hella wack

  • That is awesome. I don't know why someone hasn't made this sooner. I dreamed up this same idea years ago, and I'm just some dude.

  • Just got this controller and all I can say is "You have to roll it to believe it!", plain and simple!

  • I highly recommend this controller. Once I got the controller calibrated properly (Black Ops has a circular zone) I couldn't believe how great this controller turned out to be. $150 may be a bit much, but I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

  • Great controller Jay!

  • Full review at Trackballer

  • @TrackballController I suspect it would work, the controllers are the same parts except for the wireless censor (you'd need the usb censor for PC) but I really dont care about wireless, just as long as it works with PC, so if you ever feel like trying the mod on a wired or wireless xbox/windows controller let me know. 149 is a bit too steep to buy it and experiment on my own and I think the only problem would be not having the usb hub, they may be specific per controller

  • I tried one the these things at a friends house the other day with a couple of different games. I'm not a big gamer or anything but I found this controller about ten times easier to use than the normal xbox 360 controller. I liked it enough that I'm about to go buy an xbox for myself now.

  • My boyfriend bought this controller and I've used it several times. I think it's awesome and easy to use. I will be one of the first females to admit that I suck at shooter games. The joystick on the regular controller was hard for me to use because I couldn't control it. I would always point the gun up or down, never at my target. I've kinda claimed this controller as my own. Now my boyfriend has to buy another one because I won't give it back! I love it!
