I love that snare tone. I saw Mike in MN and he showed me his left hand technique he calls "The Buddy" after Buddy Rich. Basically manipulating the stick with your ring finger to take your wrist out of it completely.

I never really noticed how spectacular his hand technique is until just now. It looks like the sticks are just moving all by themselves!
