I see that comes from personal experience yeah?

  • You mean the NBA star Yao Ming, the Olympic 110 hurdle winner Liu Xiang, the leading dissenting blogger Hanhan pussy? They are all Shanghai males. Look around, how many celebrities and bigwigs are originally from Shanghai? The city only has less than 1% of the nation's population yet it has the power to beat the rest of China altogether in many aspects. DId u suggest you are much sucker than the pussy Shanghaiese?

  • @Goblinx10 , You mean Liu Xiang and Yao are pussies? LOL!

i'm shanghainese...i can understand some of it...but it's not very clear...

  • Lol..

I´m shanghainese, and I just understand less than a half of this song as you.. it´s not really clear her singing..

  • i speak shanghaiese with my parents but I can't understand this :(

  • Me either..and her voice is annoying..

  • same.. her shang aint too good is it.. mumbly..

  • When the capital of china was Nanjing was the official language still northern mandarin?

  • Not a clue lol. I heard people back then didn't even speak mandarin. Im kinda fuzzy on Chinese history lol.

  • @chinesemusicDJ Yes, Mandarin is the language of Nanjing , but with an accent. Once you get past Changzhiu, a form of Mandarin takes over.

  • @Maohammet

Well now it is, but he's asking about back then. Though I'm not sure which time period he is talking about, I assumed a ancient China era.

  • @chinesemusicDJ , Ah, Mandarin is a modern language, so back then they must speak some version of Wu? Since Wu speaking areas are quite close.

  • @Maohammet

Yeah I don't think they'd be speaking in Mandarin. I wonder did each kingdom in the three kingdom era spoke they're own language or a single language.

  • @chinesemusicDJ Well, I don't about the 3 kingdoms but it would probably be closer to Hokkien. They say during the Han, the language is like Hokkien, in the Tang, like Cantonese, and Mandarin evolved during the Qing.

  • 民國的時候才正音成北方話的,自明朝以后官話一直都是江淮官話,清朝時正規場合用的也是江淮官話

  • nice! i don't speak shanghainese, but i find this nicer than the original version lol..

  • 蛮好嘛!

  • shang hai ai woo ze zhong gou din hao a ay woo. my pin ying is not very good.

  • Wu lo hu shi ge e wu xP Or I love this language! Always speak it with my family ^^

  • ting ah ting vuh dong (shanghainese)

  • I speak shanghainese and I can understand it perfectly... ting dong uh! =P

  • Nice one! I didn't know it is a version of it in chinese versin !#*

  • so...shanghainese is not chinese?

  • It is, but there is no language called Chinese, it's one of many languages in the Chinese culture. Around the world the most dominant language is Cantonese with movies and songs. However the most useful and widely used dialect is Mandarin.

  • Gosh..that was a rhetorical question

  • lol Didn't see your comment through see all comments and didn't know you we're responding to someone... lol I thought you we're just another brain dead person who needed to be taught =D

  • When people say chinese they usually mean mandarin, which is not the same as shanghainese, and not the same as cantonese

  • you mean only Mandarin is Chinese?

then when will Shanghai and Hong Kong be indepentant?

Don't be silly, keep your eyes wild

  • When people refer to chinese as a language, 90% of the time they are talking about mandarin.

I never said anything about shanghainese and cantonese not being chinese.

  • 90%?

you having do about this reseach?

"Chinese" this word is say about the word and people, not the language. make no mistake.

  • Ok look, your english isnt the best, but in common everyday conversations in english, "speaking chinese" is generally used interchangably with "speaking mandarin"

If i were to start debating the meaning of a chinese phrase with you, you would probably respond the way i am right now.

  • surely my English not the best cos i obviously not the native English speaker.

By your example, you say "English", did you mean this word represent the people in scotland and Ireland? make no mistake, scotland and ireland both have their own language.

  • Yes im aware that scotland and ireland have their own language.....godamn.nvm cbf debating this with u

  • So, tell the people in north China to learn Shanghaiese or Cantonese. then you need not worry about that.

the history of these two language whatever longer than Mandarin as well.

  • just nuke beijing and make nanjing capital

the would would be a better place

  • i would rather make Guangzhou to capital, haha.....

  • Comment removed

  • didnt they say something about making shanghai capital? o_o

i recon beijing is just...plain except for the forbidden city and other historical stuff.. i went to have that duck they had there and it was wayyy too fatty and it was bland.. then again making shanghai capital is just...LOL xD it used to be sin city.

  • people usually ask if you speak chinese to know if u speak any of the dialects... if they want to know if u speak mandarin, they ask if u speak guo yu...

  • niiice!

  • bizzare~~ it doesn't make any sense~

  • who sings it?

  • Flipping cool!

  • LOL WUT

  • wow that's cool...
