  • @CookingandCrafting

I made this after 25 mins of baking i put it back in for another 10mins and it turned out perfect.

  • hope ur feeling better now thats what i call dedication ur sick and still making vids

  • So simple, and it looks really good. I thought, when you pulled it out, that it looked a bit pale and underdone, because i always gauge bread by the shade of gold in the crust. So it really *did* need more time.

I'm in the mood for red beans-n-rice tomorrow, and a loaf of this would go *just* right with it. Ima doin' it.

  • @anmoose mmm show me a pic when you are done! I will make this again, bake it longer and maybe only use half the beer(?) with water added.

  • @CookingAndCrafting,

    Piccies in the mail... :-)

I suspect that replacing beer with water "might" not work out. The fizz is part of the leavening action, and without it, it might not rise well.

  • nah you didn't get drunk from your beer bread. that rum pound cake sounds like it could get ya tipsy though hehe :)

  • seven cases... thats a lot of beer bread ;)

  • @snarkdetriomphe This made me guffaw HA!

  • lol funny to see you with an open can of bud light next to you ;) hey kid.

  • omg!! I'm lovin this!!!

    mike

  • @macaronipopped Hi Mikey!

  • yum....i can smell it baking ;-)

  • Made this tonight to accompany our navy bean soup. We LOVED it. thanks for such an easy recipe. I'm looking forward to playing with this a little and seeing what I can do. :)

  • @renegadekitsch Nice! :)

  • I'm always told that the alcohol evaporates with the heat when you cook/bake with it. I don't know, we aren't drinkers either and I always worry when kids eat food made with wine and beer. Hubby's Dad used to make beer bread, it was so complicated though. This one is very simple.

  • @ArgentineShamrock Yeah, anytime it has alcohol in it, I won't let kids around it. I do not care if it bakes off or loses the alcohol content, I would not feed it to a kid. I even warm adults not to drive after my rum pound cake ;)

  • @aohmann LOL!!! If I was out with my friends and they were drinking and we had a driver (I usually am the driver) I would indulge in an MGD in a bottle, ice cold. It wasn't often.. If I am going to take in calories by God it is going to be because I had something sinful and didn't waste it on funky flavored water LOL!!!!

  • I just recently subscribed to your channel and I like your honesty about the recipes.Your recipes are nice and down to earth.Keep up the good work and thanks!!!!!

  • @ed122iet Thank you :)

  • What means Light? is it without alcohol?

  • @JudasFan0 It means lighter in calories

  • when you cook alcohol in any food as in heating it, the flavour is only left the alcohol content is burnt away

  • @chrissiemoda Yeah it still tasted a lot like beer though, and I got woozy whether it was from this or from a sickness being bandied about my house.. I choose to believe the alky-hall because I don't drink ;)

  • I will make this as my next loaf of bread, as I have a couple cans of n/a beer and I don't drink, so it's perfect to use it up! Thanks for reminding me to make it! :)

We are being wicked frugal and cutting costs and using what we have on hand. I bake all the bread from scratch now :)

  • @JessicaPersonalChef I have started doing that this past month myself. I do find myself buying a lot more flour and sugar than I used to, but it still saves from buying a french bread every week or pillsbury rolls, etc.

  • Btw I didn't think anything of it when i noticed the first time you were cooking bare foot. I don't wear shoes in the house ever. they're the first thing I shed and the last thing I put on before I leave the house. Don't like house slippers either they slow me down. Lol. In winter I wear crew socks or the ones with the slip proof soles.

  • @jcrefasi1 me 2!!!!! :D

  • How simple, I may give this a shot!

  • hmm, interesting, I sometimes have a beer around the house because I like to have when my brother-in-laws come over.

  • I am going to try this one soon!

  • @CookingAndCrafting I bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes. I bake mine in a Pampered Chef stone ware loaf pan and it always turns out well, real easy to slice. Now I have to make some, yumm

  • Isn't that simple to make! I don't like beer. But man it was simple. Hugs girl!

  • I do not like beer at all, makes me sick to drink it. But I can drink pretty much all the straight liquor I want, go figure. Point is I LOVE beer bread so nummy and delicious ! This looks like a great recipe and I will be making it as soon as fall hits YAY.

Maybe Scott could sell that extra beer to the neighbors LOL.

Next time try pouring the melted butter over the bread the last 10 or 15 min of baking. That will make the crust nice and crispy & the butter soaks into the bread MMmm. Winning! lol

  • Have made this before...it is a good hearty bread. Someone always makes this for soup night at the legion. Goes great with soup I tell ya.

  • I love beer bread !! I have some Bud Light on hand..After watching this I'm tempted to make some.

  • what can i subsitute beer with?

  • @TheJamieCook The best bet would be beer ;)

No clue, since it is called beer bread and is the "yeast" in this case. Maybe a packet of yeast and some water to equal 12 oz.

  • I have a cheddar bread ready to be edited, but it is one of those let it rise forever type of recipes. This is so quick!

  • @yoyomax12 mmm cheddar bread :) Can't wait to see it

  • i think it would taste good with that butter and honey mixture u made for the biscuits

  • Looks wonderful. W have bread here made with beer in Australia called damper..it's awesome and simple to make

  • @Fitange I will google! :)

  • I've made this same recipe several times and it is delicious and so easy.

  • @Ativabrand How long do you have to bake it?

  • Makes great rolls too!! I Use a muffin pan for a shorter baking time for hot summer days.

  • @jcrefasi1 I like the rolls idea!

  • 1:47 ,FOOT SHOT!!!!

  • @funluis10 You are not one of those weird foot fetish people, are you? I already have one and he was told to tread water very carefully.

  • @CookingAndCrafting Every time I see you foot appear in a video, I'm always thinking! There's one of the foot fetish people, lol!!

What did he respond? His comment is removed. :)

  • @yoyomax12 He removed his first and the second was marked as spam, so it doesn't show unless you click "show"..but I got the email for it. Anyway, he has not answered me.. ;) If I am not mistake he has commented once or twice before and not inappropriately, so it may just be a weird comment?

  • Is this kid safe?

  • @kareemtiheed all alcohol if cooked out of it

  • @kareemtiheed I would have to say no. This definitely tasted of beer. I would not give it to my kid, if I had any.

  • I love your recipes, Beth..you can find alot of my recipes on my Facebook page..I follow you every day and try out everything you make...I look forward to your videos..thanks..hope you are having a good Summer...

  • @lmdelsanto1 Are you on the Beth or the C&C one? I need to sign in the C&C facebook page, as I have not been there in forever... Also PM me on there with your 'real' name so I can get to your page. Thanks!

  • Ha! ha! I was wondering about the saltines. i wonder if the beer bread would be good with chili?

  • @Gardeninggirl1107 Probably. I had it with another meal that I shot and will load...a pizza ;)

  • I maje beer bread all the time my recipe says to bake an hour though. You can put different things in the batter to kick it up a notch like shredded cheese , garlic , onion powder. Or going the other way cinamon .

  • @soonfully thanks i'll try your way

  • @soonfully After I put it back in for a few more minutes, it was good to go. This is a Gooseberry Patch recipe and I guess I am going to have to start using my gut with them if I get another one that turns out iffy I do like the idea of adding in cheese

  • wow how easy is that. Is the beer flavor strong? I have never liked beer but this looks so easy and no kneading the bread. I might just have to try it.

    Lauren

  • @justwant2bhappy Yes the beer flavor was very strong to me, but I am a non-drinker.

  • It looks good and is a simple recipe, but I hate beer, so if it really tastes like beer, then I will make it to take to someone who likes it! I like the self-rising flour tutorial! That makes the best scones.

  • did she said pour this booger in?

  • @moodyMCmoody Yes she did.(I think, I do not remember what I say but I do say booger a bunch)

  • Oh how easy!!!! My friend made a beer bread from a mix and I loved it - this looks even more simple than a box mix! It is so good cubed and used to dip in garlic dip!! :)

  • Oh, this one is a little different - you didn't soak the top with half a stick of butter before you baked it. Maybe it's a little less fatty then. I'm totally trying this once the temp gets down below 90!

  • LOVE IT! I've seen somehwere before, Its so easy and its like real bread because of the yeast in the beer...and sweet! YUMO hahha I think it sounds funny when I say 'cook cookies' sometimes I'm about to say it and I'm like...'Im sure theres a word when you put things in the oven...OH YEAH bake' hahha. Such a good idea if you get free beer! End result looked great...especially the butter wiping part XD OMFG I LOVE doughy/semi-raw bread! hahha..when you showed the slice you cut i went gaga XD

  • Yummy...I will have to make this for my guy...he loves beer...

  • OMG i made this today! my FAVORITE kind of bread is beer bread! sooo good! escpecially with some butter ;) yum!

  • @xoAllieGator21xo what a coinky dink!!!
